Shadow Total 34
ok, so after playing some games with the shoulder to shoulder wounding deck and i realized that, while fun, it just isn't ever going to command the playing field. however, it let me explore some things and come up with THIS deck. on the freeps side it employs greenleaf for wounds off the bat, and arwen to make use of those wounds. a handful of elven events to take care of burdens, conditions, and give a boost to the elves during skirmishes, and in turn made use of by cirdan. each skirmish won translates into tokens and from their aragorn takes over using them to overwhelm minions, and with his ring heal some comps. an assortment of bows and swords keep the wounds flying and the skirmishes won. for cycling their are a lot of tricks. shadow between turns unneeded cards into healing. galadriel's ring lets you cycle through even when you are doubling. and the elven swords let you shell out cards for during the skirmish. there is no special cycling on the shadow side, so take advantage of all these tricks whenever you can.
on the shadow side, its all about wounding the ring-bearer, and adding burdens. the deck comes in at 15 events 19 minions. but at least there are no conditions to be discarded by pesky freeps. there is a 5 card gollum package in here that consists of 1x gollum, dad and 4x captured by the ring. so 4 of those events are purely for playing and replaying gollum. a pair of morgul brutes to make your opponent stop and think. a pair of enquea, lom for crowd control, and a whole heap of twilight minions to use those events.
bid zero and go second. there is no reason to bog down galadriel before you've seen what you are up against. its probably best to make their freeps walk, and use the sites to your advantage. but if you are feeling lucky, im sure you shouldn't have any problems running with this deck. make sure you are dropping the events in the discard, winning the skirmishes with the elves and you should be fine.
if everything is running smoothly, wounds should be easy to dish out, and once they get past that, they should face a formidable fellowship, and both gorn and cirdan should be able to take on the tanks. against swarmish decks those tokens can really add up.
anyways, thoughts, as always appreciated.

Sauron wouldn't be a bad addition here... except that he's not a twilight nazgul...

except that he's not a twilight nazgul...
Twilight Sauron = best idea ever. Aaaaand I'm off.
-
actually don't they have that footage they shot when aragorn was sposed to fight sauron in front of the black gate? and there is a part where he looks all twilighty... they could have done that. it might have made [Sauron] twilight wraiths more playable. they are really only good for a splash.
-
I'm glad they didn't make that fight scene a reality.
-
amen.
-
now i see the perks of using "terrible as the dawn" in ket's sauron wounding deck. for this purposes exactly...

In addition to having too much events, I think your shadow should go either the wounding way or the way of corruption. In case of RB-wounding, remove at least 2 Resistance Becomes Unbearable, 1 Wraith World, all copies of It Wants to be Found and all copies of Ulaire Otsea. Add Morgul Brute, Morgul Destroyer and Flung Into the Fray.
If you go the way of corruption, remove all copies of RBU and maybe instead of 1 copy of CbtR add Stinker.
In both instances you should Fell Beast. Lord of the Nazgul on Fell Beast is probably the best Witch King by far.
-
with the rings we have in the game now, RB wounding and burdening are very close to each other already...
-
This is how my shadow looks like:
4x Lord of the Nazgul
3x Enquea, RiT
1x Enquea, LoM
1x Gollum, DaD
4x Morgul Brute
4x Morgul Destroyer
2x Morgul Skulker
1x Wormtongue
1x Ring of Rancor
3x Fell Beast
3x CbtR
2x Wraith World
2x Morgul Gates
1x Flung Into the Fray
2x His Terrible Servants
I forgot... you should never, ever run a Twilight Nazgul deck without His Terrible Servants. With this deck I very often win and I won through corruption as many times as through RB-kill depending on who's the ringbearer. I found Gimli, BoG to be most difficult to kill (Gimli's Helm, Dwarven Bracers, Gimli's Armor), but not that difficult to corrupt if you have Wraith World.

in gollum decks, A Dark Shape Sprang is beast against gimli. if you are adding all those threats he will often have to add the burdens. if you play stinker, he will have a decent strength, plus use they stole it promise keeping, and you can pack a punch. bonus being a free gollum, and if you are early in the game, you might even be able to drop a shelob her ladyship if you're packing one.
