I believe I was watching your game, and the dwarfs did some good surviving, but that's about it. Couldn't double move and every turn was rather life/death.

Am I mistaken?

Seems a bit too big, but I might be (and probably am) wrong about that. There is that awesome condition that makes Gimli str +1 for each dwarven card stacked on it. Might be a nice addition, but not sure.

im not sure what your shadow strategy is... there's discard, there's burdening, there's wounding, there's power minions..i think it's best to focus on 1 strategy.

I played vs. your deck couple of times ( i am alonso on gccg) and I absolutely agree with other comments
- you have to decide which strategy you will play on shadow side(discard, wounding, power minions...)
- too big deck 35 cards would be enough
-blood runs chill is a must in dwarven deck (except you play also with gandalf)
-more healing...

Something doesn't work in this sentence. It is contradictory. Just saying.

lol my initial thought was, "hrmmm... this can't be working well...." hehehehe

anyways, back to topic...

FP side: just search ket's dwarven deck around here somewhere then use that. (saves me having to explain hehehe)

shadow side: pick a strategy that works well for you...then focus on it. i would suggest wounding or burdening, but you'd have to re-do your shadow side a lot too...

It doesn't have to be contradictory. Meaning of "working well" doesn't necessarily equal "win games". It may be that his intended strategy or combo was working well, but that alone was not enough and he needs help which why we are here for.

My suggestion is that whatever strategy you choose, add more copies of Sindri (or start with him), cut on the possessions (mostly Hand Axe), Slaked Thirsts (leave 2), Lord of Moria and Endurance of Dwarves. Add skirmish events (play them, stack them on Preparations, play them again). You might also consider What are we waiting for if you keep the discarding strategy. It's such a nice card. Also add Sam,SoH and most definitely 2 copies of BRC.

As for the shadow... I can't say much until you choose your path. ;)

Basically everyone here is telling you to streamline your deck, in effect, take one idea, pick a few cards that absolutely necessary to the strategy, then add fillers for condition/possession discard, healing, burden removal, RB protection, etc

the deck is very important, but how you play with it is even more...

I think Battle Tested would be a better choice than Axe Work and Sam, SoH instead of 1x Lord of Moria. Otherwise it looks good. Shadow seems fine as well. Through playtesting, you'll see what you lack and what you need most. Also, I found Mordor Pillager as a very good site controlling machine.

Axe Work seems weak with his site 3... I'd say put in Axe of Erebor and Sam, SoH as well. Gimli has a low resistence so you'll need it in case you face burdening decks. Maybe add a Dwarven Armor as well?

I have to say, I totally did not expect this direction from his shadow from looking at it's original list. hehehe :)

Right, I meant Axe Strike. Battle Tested seems a better choice because you can easily get stacked cards on Preparations and then you have +4 pump instead of Axe Strike +3 if you have a [Dwarf] hand weapon.

What about Book of Mazarbul on Durin III? It would give him an extra strength. And my brother made a killer dwarf deck from sets 1-10. But of course he won't let me touch it!

It's not worth it. It costs too much for a meager bonus of +1 strength on Durin III. It's a great card in FotR, but in movie format its text has no effect, because RotK sites are used.

I made deck with Killer Durin by using Elrond, HtGG and playing Elven Cloak and Elven Brooch on Durin III. Those cards provide their own effect and provide my Durin with extra strength. When all is said and done, he has 19 str. If you really wanted him to get to 20, you could use Book of Mazarbul and I believe the strength cap for Durin in movie format is 21 which can be accomplished by playing against Shelob and having Spider Poison put on Durin.

Durin is so strong...I cap my durin at 17 though. I don't want to focus too much on buffing 1 companion. shelob, her ladyship makes him useless though:( i hate shelob

My brother just gets Durin III Damage +7 against Shelob. hahahah.....

you can't assign durin to a skirmish if you're playing against shelob, her ladyship.

only if you spot Gollum.....
Title: Re: Help needed for a dwarven deck

which will most likely be the case all the time... gollum's so easy to play with cbtr and we must have it...not to mention plotting deceiver among others...

hahahah.....I know what you mean. But my brother aloud like no twighlite until site 7,8, or 9. So Sauron is hard to get out but very possible.
