Title: Signets
Post by: itjunkie on November 13, 2010, 10:42:23 AM
Hi, im trying to build a new FP deck but im running out of ideas... so id just like to ask. what are the combos out there for these signets?

Aragorn Signets - only one i can think of is King in Exile

Frodo Signets - there's more for this, but Frodo's pipe is currently what's on top of mind for me.

Frodo signet is good for choking and wounding.  TT has a few "add a burden to wound a minion skirmishing a frodo sig comp." and ROTK block has a few, "remove 1 twlight for each frodo comp sig."

Gorn sigs aren't as good after KiE.  TT has the possession one, these are my people, and there is a gandy sig card which prevents wounds or something.  Pretty much after ROTEL sigs were flushed down the toilet.  I think that is why Big D swapped sigs for resistence come set 11.

Aragorn -  King in Exile, These are my People, Hard Choice, At His Command, Voice of Rauros are the ones I can think of.

I made a fun deck with At His Command running 9 companions (mostly [gondor] Men and some [gondor] wraiths along with Gandalf). Making my companions strenght +9 and then taking that event back with On Your Doorstep. I used [gondor] wraiths and Hidden Knowledge to add threats. I also ran Noble Leaders so Hidden Knowledge is a win-win.

I believe Kralik and Cw0rk have good These Are My People decks.

Hard Choice is a must in every Aragorn signet deck.
Here (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php/topic,5444.0.html) is my Aragorn signet deck I am very fond of. It brought me many good times, although most of those were Shadow-side related.
-------

As for Frodo, jmccarthy made a very good combo with Frodo, Son of Drogo and Sam, Resolute Halfling. My favorite (and I believe my original) is using Dear Friends in Echo of Luthien deck.

Mind Your Own Affairs and No Use That Way are good for wounding decks. Straining Towards Us is the only other I can think of. Note that every Smeagol has a Frodo signet, so he can be very well incorporated in a Frodo signet deck.

Aragorn signets also can use No Mere Ranger.  I had a deck once using that with Arwen, Daughter of Elrond along with The Choice of Luthien and Arwen's Fate.  It was fun to play, but tough to win lots of games with.  I also have an Aragorn signet deck that uses King in Exile along with Isilidur, Legolas, Fearless Marksmen, and Hardy Garrison.  That build usually wins more games

Frodo signets are great for pipes, and also for wounding.  I have a deck with Smeagol, Always Helps and Mind Your Own Affairs/Don't Look at Them.  I play other Frodo signets to make better use of Mind Your Own Affairs.

Aragorn KIE is also really good in Dauntless Hunter archery.  You can put Splendor of Their Banners on Legolas and use Aragorn and Hard Choice to heal him.

Gandy sigs are universally considered the best- because of Trust Me As You Once Did and Let Us Not Tarry...maybe even a Down From The Hills, plus a bunch of solid companions with Gandalf signets.

I was thinking I saw a really good Frodo signet choke though at one point.

Edit: Yup, it had a bunch of choke cards and then ran with Straining Towards Us and a bunch of burden removal stuff with PATHS and Mind Your Own Affairs. Smeagol, Always Helps + Mind Your Own Affairs = win, esp with, say, A Light In His Mind. And stuff.

Greenleaf would work well too.

hrcho - Do you have a decklist for this?
