Title: Wingfoot!
Post by: jdizzy001 on December 15, 2010, 10:40:07 PM
Wingfoot is still to this day one of my favorite aragorns, because his pic is so cool!  I wanted to make a Wingfoot deck.  I know shadow play/wingfoot/choke decks are pretty useful and I already have one.  So, tell me what would work with what I have.

Such a weight to carry
elven cloak
elven sword x2
secret sentinels x2
asfaloth x2
elrond Herald to Gil x2
Glorfindel
vilya
armor x2
dag strike x4
anduril, llama del oeste x2
gorn, wingfoot x3
hobby sword x2
frodo, Hope of the freeps
merry from o'er the brandywine
mithril-coat
pippin, sworn to service
sting, baggins heirloom
there and back again x2

SHADOW:
black steed x4
his terrible servants x2
morgul brute x4
resistance becomes unbearable x3
The Twilight World x3
Wraith-World x3
witchy, LotN x3 (<-contrary to popular belief, lotn actually means, Lord of the North! jk)
Attea, the easterling x2 (<-I hate allies)
Enquea RiT x3
Nelya x3

Corruption and the freeps is a form of skirmish, I don't know, tell me what you think, I would like to know.

He is cooler in Pre-Hunters, then you can get some extra unbound Hobbits, and go for choke and skirmish avoidance.

Perhaps playing Gandalf instead of the Elves would be better for the set up.

If you hate allies so much, you should consider Tower Assassin. Or Dunlending Warrior. One of my very favorites.

He need's twilight nazgul around. Is Fell Beast movie block? Would be awesome with The Witch-King, Lord of the Nazgul. Better than Black Steed, I think. Also, I think It Wants to be Found is nice, and I'd probably paly Morgul Skulker to recycle it. The deck needn't be THAT slim, you could probably play 32/32 and barely note the difference, or even get away with 33/33.

I agree with felipe with the fell beast..definitely better than black steed. i'd also swap a copy or two of Enquea, RiT with Enquea,LoM just because he's so awesome.

putting in gollum, dad or gollum stinker + cbtr might be good for the deck too...not sure which ones to take out though.

You could lose Morgul Brute for Drawn to Its Power, swap a twilight Enquea for shotgun Enquea, add another shotgun enquea, a 4th Witch-king (maybe losing 1 Twilight World), and most likely 2 Ulaire Toldea, Messenger of Dol Guldur.

good ideas. i should post my other wingfoot deck so i don't rehash old ideas.  I used fell beasts in my old deck, and with all the plains sites in movie block I thought the black steeds would be a good card to try.  I think i do need to add a few more cards.  I don't like making big decks, but 31/31 is very easy to use in movie block.  I'm not sure messenger of Dol Guldur is legal in movie block.

Why would you start Glorfindel? You might as well run Legolas, Dauntless Hunter and piss everyone that you play against off.

What's with you and Dagger Strike? With your companions, you might want to consider No Mere Ranger and Hard Choice in the deck.

I love dauntless hunter!  He's as bad as heir to the white city (who never should have been banned!) seriously, 2 twilight per fellowship phase.  That's nothing!  What is the difference between Heir to the white city and dwarves who discard EVERYTHING!

All Nazgul and all Elf cards should be banned, hahahaha.  It seems like ONLY my favorite cards are banned from Movie block.

It is a fair and good call to ban Aragorn, Heir to the White City outside of Fellowship Block. In most cases, [2] can be the difference between playing a minion and not playing a minion. Choking was just too far stifling of an environment in Fellowship Block and once more competitive companions were introduced, it was too much to have Fellowships that could play multiple strength 10+ companions and not introduce any twilight beyond a move.

Think of the implications in Movie Block...Anduril, Flame of the West for a net [1]?

I understand the point you're making Ket, but honestly, what is the difference between choking and disabling your opponents ability to play minions, via lack of twilight, and discarding your opponents minions before they can play them?  In my opinion, choking and discarding go hand in hand and either ban them both or don't ban either of them (from decipher's POV since aside from gentelman's agreements I don't think TLHH has banned anything).  Honestly how many times have you played against a dwarf/sauron discard deck and couldn't play anything because you had no cards.  Choke is the same thing, you can't play anything because you have no twilight.  I've been on the wrong end of chokes and discards.  Trust me when I tell you the feeling of, "arg I can't play anything" is present in both a choke game and a discard game. ;)

I understand the idea behind banning cards but I kind of feel cheated at times.  No BILL THE PONY, etc?  It takes chunks out of the "feel" of the game...maybe limiting them to 1 of each of those banned cards...or, only a total of 2 or 3 banned cards total per deck and only one copy of each of those three cards.
