Here's my hobbit deck... it's been quite successful and lots of fun.
Frodo, Old Bilbo's Heir
The One Ring, ATAR
1x Bilbo, BoTB (Start)
1x Merry, Rohirrim Squire (Start)
1x Pippin, Sworn to Service (Start)
1x Sam, Great Elf Warrior
1x Farmer Maggot, CoR
1x Filibert Bolger, WR
1x Master Proudfoot, DRoB
1x Melilot Brandybuck, MD
1x Rosie Cotton, HL
1x The Gaffer, Sam's Father
2x Hobbit Party Guest
2x Bounder
2x Consorting With Wizards
1x A Talent For Not Being Seen
1x There And Back Again
1x The Tale of The Great Ring
4x Chance Observation
2x Hobbit Intuition
4x NFFATROD
4x Practically Everyone Was Invited
4x Hobbit Sword
1x Bane of the Eight Legs
Fellowship: Play your hobbits. Practically Everyone is Invited helps a lot in that manner and choose to play Sam, GEW and Master Proudfoot, DrOB first. Also heal a lot. Utilize Proudfoot as much as possible (Consorting With Wizards can help there). Proudfoot will also add the twilight Bilbo needs to spot.
Skirmish: Make your Hobbits grow suddenly tall with Chance Observation. Make them bestial. Make them humble Sauron. NFFATROD is there to help with burdens if necessary, but mostly for the Rohirrim Squire - Sworn to Service combo.
38 cards may seem a lot, but once Proudfoot gets in play, that is no problem at all. Especially if paired with a fast shadow. These Freeps are best paired with Corsairs or Moria, because they don't mind Proudfoot.

I like how you included Bilbo with your hobbits and uses Master Proudfoot. That's creative. Your deck doesn't have any condition removals but I guess thats a weakness for many Hobbit decks.

I really like your idea...the only thing that scares me is the threats. I understand you use the threats for/with Merry and Pippin, and I see you have Nine-fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom to help, very nice...maybe add Tom Bombadil, The Master (is he legal in Movie Block?)...??? He can remove either threats or burdens just by being played and he is basically a "get out of skirmish free" card. I have been bitten many times by STINKING, FAT THREATSEESSSS.....
I usually just stick with the Brandywine Merry, safe and strong...BUT, diversity is the key to life and fun and I definitely love your ideas! Also, it's not always fun being safe...hahahaha. Keep posting!!

Aye, normally I would've used Well-Spoken Gentlehobbit, but since I'm using Bilbo in another manner, I'm left with the lack of condition removal. I guess the most condition dependent shadows are Sauron Swarm and Ninja Gollum. With little luck this deck can survive Sauron Swarm because of great healing capabilities, but Ninja Gollum rips it apart. Nazgul conditions can also cause some trouble, but it's manageable.

I don't see how Merry or Pippin use burdens. I believe I have enough burden removal with NFFATROD and Melilot Brandybuck, MD despite Bilbo's tendency to add burdens because I will most of the time throw enough twilight via Master Proudfoot.

I prefer Rohirrim Squire. Especially in combination with NFFATROD and Sworn to Service. With him NFFATROD serves as a +4 str pump.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean burdens, I meant threats...my bad.

I understand having Bilbo in your starting fellowship, but why do you have that Bilbo? Wouldn't Melancholy Hobbit work better?

Movie :)
Relax, I've already made that mistake too!

From what I've seen, you've made similar mistakes before. I assume you mostly play by house rules. There is no problem here, but maybe you would want to make yourself familiar with various formats and their rules. Here (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php/topic,120.0.html) you can see the summary of the most popular formats. If you are already familiar with those formats and this was just a coincidental mistake, disregard this post.

Is there a mistake in CwW text? It says that Bilbo can't take wounds but then it says to wound him. I'm not sure whether I'm playing with house rules but it may be that wounds and exertion aren't technically the same thing. Also can you exert Bilbo while that card is equipped?
-
While in effect very similar, wounds and exertions are indeed not the same. You can exert a character only V-1 times, where V is that character's vitality. Once a character is exerted that number of times, he/she is considered exhausted and can be exerted no more, but he/she can still be wounded. That wound would, unless prevented, kill that character. Also, cards that prevent wounds can't prevent exertions and cards that prevent exertions can't prevent wounds.
There is also a difference between cannot take wounds and prevent wounds. That has been discussed many times on the forum previously and simple search will find it for you.

wounds and exertions are different things. while almost the same in effect, they are two entirely different things.

Love it...would like to add something more constructive, for Ket's pleasure, but I can't.
