The good thing is that the senator is apparently recovering quite rapidly, going from "critical" to "serious" state after her surgery. And a flashlight has been shone on race/immigration/gun law politics, and people are participating. In some ways, this is very very good.

I have to say, i am very impressed with Obama that he didn't make any policy moves curing his speech at the memorial service, especially because two democratic congressman both brought up the issue of gun control at the same service, kudos Barack
