Title: Eowyn, Sister-daughter of Theoden, and Damage +1
Post by: Zurcamos on January 17, 2011, 10:48:34 AM
Technically, this is a Two Towers question.

Let's say I have Eowyn, Sister-daughter of Theoden with one wound, and I assign her to skirmish an Uruk with Damage +1.  She loses.  Does she die because she isn't exhausted at the time of losing, or can I place one wound to make her exhausted and discard two cards, keeping her alive?  If I recall, the wording of the rulebook sounded like you don't place the two wounds for Damage +1 at the exact same time, but I'm not sure that's the right way to go.

Wounds are placed one at a time which means you can put wounds on her until she is exhausted and then use her ability to prevent any other subsequent wounds.

The same goes for [gondor] wraiths and Swept Away. When I first played them I thought that a dmg +2 minion could kill a wraith (when Swept Away is in play) if that wraith wasn't previously exhausted)

yes you can discard the cards to keep her alive, it goes

Place 1st Wound
      -Free Peoples responds
      -Shadow Responds
Place 2nd Wound
      -Free Peoples responds
      -Shadow Responds

virtually nothing in the game happens simultaneously
