Title: Avatar Bug Workaround Thread

For the life of me, I CANNOT figure out why avatars are broken. Fortunately, I think I found a way around the issue. Here's what you can do:

1) Reply to this thread and upload your avatar as an attachment (Note: Use full reply with "Preview" not the Quick Reply box).
2) Right-click on the attachment image after posting and choose Copy image URL/Copy image location.
3) Go to your Forum Profile Information (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;sa=forumProfile) page.
4) Select I have my own pic: and paste the URL into that box.

I can see my icon/avatar but remember have troubles with uploading them. I had set up a photobucket account and copied the direct link there to get mine up. I also noticed that when posting images it will let people see them without being logged in. In upload favorite foils thread many can only be seen if logged in. Not really sure if it has any meaning or might be helful but just an observation.

The uploading trouble is the bug that I can't fix. Instead, you can upload them to this thread and use the URL from the attachment as your avatar URL.

They are limited to 100x100. If it would help, you could resize it yourself first...?

Sometimes when logging in, I'm directed to an otherwise blank page showing hrcho's Saruman avatar (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6170.0;attach=934;image).

*lol* Is there a fix for this?

Ermm... no clue. Which login are you using -- Full login page or quick login box? Also, which theme?

I use the quick login box, and the theme is set to "SMF Default Theme - Core". Can't duplicate this issue consistently, though.

ES, maybe try the normal login page that can save the login info permanently for you? At least then you aren't logging in all of the time.

Oh, I have "Always stay logged in" checked (I log in from the bottom of the page instead of the top, if that makes a difference) so it's not an issue unless I sign out. Anyway, nothing that can't be bypassed even then.
