I spend some time today writing a computer program that can crunch the GCCG user file for some records!
Throwing out all of the users who have never played a game, and any draws, here's what we get:
Total number of games played: 15,280
Total number of users: 332
Average number of games per user: 41
Average number of games per day: 20
Top players by number of games:
1. jmccarthy: 1760 games
2. marko: 1129 games
3. Peiper: 1047 games
4. hrcho: 1029 games
5. King89: 756 games
6. Kainbr: 680 games
7. 99ent: 639 games
8. Pepin: 584 games
9. Gwaihir: 581 games
10. Muaddib85/Smeagollum (tie): 553 games
Top players by win percentage:
1. RGstag: 89.69%
2. greal: 85.48%
3. Tempest987: 82.58%
4. Enola: 81.33%
5. smallman: 79.9%
6. Ahriman: 79.47%
7. Olorin: 79.04%
8. Luthien: 76.53%
9. Manuel: 76.32%
10. felixx: 75%
Only users having played 100 games or more were included for win percentage top ten.
Numbers are from the period of January 4th, 2009 (first public GCCG post) to time of this post's last edit.

ohh, so close on number of games! 513 :P
-
Hey I am at 100% at the single player tables!
-
These would be the TWO-player win percentages. ;)
-
I'm the winner! -jmccarthy

I wonder who the top earners are? Probably pretty similar to the most games played list, but if some of those high win percentage people have played a lot of games then they might be on top.
Also, it's interesting to see that the top 10 game players make up over a quarter of the games played, though I'm willing to bet there's a fair bit of overlap from them playing each other and what not.
-
Can we have something as the most wins with Lost to the Goblins? Most definately I will be top of the boards with that!
-
how about most boneheaded decisions? I would totally win that

Ah, that's a valid point. It seems that all of my numbers are off by a factor of two, since each 2P game would then be counted twice! I was thinking 40 a day sounded high! Fixed.

It would be fun if we could organize some kind of draft tournament...
I think those are the most interesting, and probably best indicator of how good someone is..
Lets say, everyone gets 100 fotr boosters, and 2 copies of both starters...
and then we play :)
( personally i got bored playing high win percentage decks, so play others much more )
Another idea...
Each player has an option ( maybe for some amount of money ) to get his "Draft set" from particular set ( lets say FotR, f.e. 100 boosters and 2 copies of both starters ), and then he can make "Draft deck" that is validated only through those cards present in his "draft set".
I personally like more the latter one, since it does not require everyone being online at the same time...
We could maybe even put results in some League table...
And, I would personally put a bit higher price on "Get new Draft set" to make it harder to get some Godly draft set, like ones with 2+ hates and 2+ orc bowmens
or ones 2+ armorys, etc.
Pls, post what do u think about this... and you Kralik, you can also post whether u think sth like this feasible at all :)
-
It is actually feasible -- GCCG has some commands just for this purpose. I need to figure it all out.

Well, Draft sets are composed of a Draft Booster and some regular boosters, so I think it'd be better to create a "Draft Set" with fictional rarities for C's and U's (for companions, events, etc, like, each having a "rarity" of it's own so they don't mix together), and add to the Product screen a Draft Booster, which would com from such set, and code the booster to have X cards, being Y in rarity Z (companions), A in rarity B (events), and 1-3 regular rares (can't remember how much of those would come in each booster). Then you'd play like MtG Sealed, you'd type in Sealed, buy the product, make the deck solely with what you end up getting in the boosters and play, then the cards would migrate to your collection after. Seems complicated, but I'm guessing whoever knows how to program it might be able to do it. Problem is selecting which cards would be in the draft set. My idea? Draft Sets (and Draft Boosters) for each block. Community-designed (as to what companions and events/conditions and such would come).

I am a huge fan of DRAFT for fellowship block. I used to love playing in draft 4 round tournaments on LTORO-Decipher back in the day. I would love to see this implemented for GCCG.

Whoever gave you a thumbs down on the original post of this thread should be deleted from TLHH and GCCG.
As people can't just 'give gold' anymore, I gave you a thumbs up here for the gold promised in my last PM. Keep up the good work Kralik, where would we all be without you... 8-)
