Title: Thread for Volunteers and Rules-Based Discussion
Post by: Kralik on January 24, 2011, 05:45:27 PM
Would you like to be involved in helping plan new formats?
Proposing possible errata to broken cards?
Clarifying rules questions?

If so, tell us your ideas! What custom formats could we play to enjoy the game in new ways? Are there cards that need to be fixed? Are there ways to make LotR rules more accessible to new players?

Let us know if you want to be a part of the rules team!

Kralik's initial suggestions:

Focus more on promoting new formats and nailing down current rules vs. errata and more X-/R-lists.

What kind of new formats are you considering proposing? As for the current rulings, what is really wrong with the collective effort on the Archives of Minas Tirith?

Those are both good and valid questions, but instead of putting out my ideas, I would like to see who wants to be involved and what their ideas are. I'll share my thoughts later.

I will of course help!

I think we'll need to start by consolidating all existing erratas and rulings, both official and those from the Unofficial Rulebook and others in the community. Then we can clear up any other rulings that come to the fore and produce a TLHH current rulings document.

If you tell me where to find the unofficial rules I can help, I think I've been playing long enough to know the game balance.
Me too, I would like to see more formats and less errata, X-lists, R-lists and so on.
And would like to play in more then 2, if possible.

Here you go:  Unofficial Rulebook (http://files.me.com/tlbiesterfeld/nlw02c)
It's also in my signature below.

I'm always willing to let my light shine upon certain things. I consider myself as an experienced player with this remark: I know more than some, and less than others. Like I said pre-hunters standard would be a format I would like to see, but we'll see.

Hopefully the rulebook can provide solid backup for any gameplay question one day. I'd like to help with that.

At the moment though I'm looking at this as a "play it as we want" guide, as opposed to strictly interpreting everything. I remember being caught between these two on previous rules work. Maybe other people's votes would change as well depending on how they view its purpose.

I'm about ready to open up this subforum to new topics. Any more volunteers before I do? As a side note, it would be a good idea for each subforum to have a Global Moderator rep to help move topics around if need be.

I can play test cards, but my skill is very limited. I'm in! :D

You can be one of the playtesters and give feedback. :)

For the starting rules team, we have: TJ, hrcho, Thran, Tbiesty, Gil-Estel and ES. All on the team get local moderator privileges. Feel free to start new threads!
