Title: Pavise Question
Post by: Reybenn on February 02, 2011, 02:07:48 PM
I was playing a casual game the other day with my brothers and a question came up about Pavise.  Can I assign wounds to a minion bearing a pavise in phases other than the skirmish phase even though the card say bear can't be wounded?  For example, if I play 2 men minions one of whom bears a pavise versus an elven archery deck, can I assign the archery wounds to the man bearing the pavise and have them blocked by the pavise?  Or must the man not bearing the pavise take the archery fire because the man with the pavise can't actually be wounded?

Bearer of Pavise cannot take wounds. Any archery must go to any minions it can, but anyone bearing Pavise won't take an arrow. The same goes for an Easterling bearing Easterling Polearm and 2 burdens can be spotted.

In short, wounds must go to the other guy(s)

I wonder what happens then if all minions have Pavise. Are archery wounds discarded?

If noone can take the wounds, then archery goes into air.

Think of it this way: A bunch of elven archers fired they arrows at a bunch of minions, but none of those arrows hurt anyone because they had big shields. Or elven archers were very drunk and missed.

but since elves have a very hard time actually getting drunk, it's more likely they got distracted because Uruviel walked by.

No Pauses, no spills and no regurgitation!
