Title: Selling Some Decks???? (Hobbits/Evil Man, Gandy Men/Ferny Slam, Ent/Southron)
Post by: SomeRandomDude on August 25, 2008, 09:19:55 AM
Okay, I'm thinking of selling some of my decks. Because, quite simply, auto insurance, needing a new laptop, and other stuff leaves me needing some cash.

So...here are the decks, along with strategy notes. I'd like to see what people would pay for them.

!Westfarthing Businessman/Evil Man Possessions- 32/32

Frodo, Resolute Hobbit (Promo)

Sam, Great Elf Warrior (starting)
Westfarthing Businessman (starting)

Westfarthing Businessman x 3

The Gaffer, Master Gardener
Daddy Twofoot, Next-Door Neighbor
Robin Smallburrow

Phial of Galadriel, The Light of Earendil
Sting, Weapon of Heritage
Bill the Pony, Dearly-Loved x 2
Golden Perch Ale x 2
Hobbit Sword x 4

Sudden Fury x 4
Good Work x 2
Scouring of the Shire
Humble Homestead
Faith in Friendship
Kept Safe

Community Living x 2
No Visitors x 2

Saruman, Coldly Still x 2
Easterling Dispatcher x 4
Sunland Guard x 4
Sunland Warrior x 4
Sunland Trooper x 3
Vengeful Primitive x 2
Vengeful Pillager x 2

Wildman’s Oath x 4
Pavise x 2
Primitive Brand x 3

Countless Companies x 2

Pandemonium x 2

Cancel skirmishes, get big, beat people up, heal, prevent wounds, protect conditions, peel burdens, yup, sounds like hobbits! What’s funner than clobbering people with a miniature army of ninja hobbits?

Then, pair it with a massive possession strategy that stacks and replays minions to get maximum benefit. Can you say, Sunland Warrior? Or Vengeful Pillager? With a Primitive Brand? Chuck your spare Wildman’s Oath to snag back with Saruman, or load up your already winning minions with Primitive Brands to spread some victory around.

Massive Ent Starters/Southron Initiative Grind- 30/30

Frodo, Resolute Hobbit

Pippin, In the Bloom of Health
Merry, In the Bloom of Health
Farmer Maggot, Hobbit of the Marish
Quickbeam, Bregalad
Skinbark, Fladrif
Host of Fangorn

Gandalf, Leader of the Company (tengwar FOIL)
Huorn
Treebeard, Enraged Shepherd
Woodland Onod x 3
Skinbark, Fladrif
Host of Fangorn
Pippin, Woolly-Footed Rascal
Merry, Loyal Companion

Ent Moot x 3
Traveler’s Homestead

Momentous Gathering x 3
Warmed Up A Bit x 3
Inspiration x 4

Desert Warrior x 3
Desert Spearman x 3
Desert Scout
Desert Sneak x 4
Desert Runner x 4

Raider Bow x 4
Harsh Tongues x 3

Red Wrath x 4
Whirling Strike x 4

The Freeps strategy? Filter! Momentous Gathering does a great job of that, and Woodland Onod/Inspiration allows you to max out massive strength pumping to overrun your opponent.

The shadow side relies on snagging initiative so you can start auto-wounding your guys. Red Wrath and Whirling Strikes are definitely great surprises that can leave a companion dead very easily, especially when he’s bearing that Raider Bow. Rout makes an excellent addition.

Gandy Men Follower Slam/Ferny RB Slammer- 34/34

Gandalf, Bearer of Obligation

Brand, King of Dale
Barliman Butterbur, Red-Faced Landlord

Ghan-Buri-Ghan, Chieftain of the Woses x 2
Jarnsmid, Barding Emissary
Grimbeorn, Beorning Chieftain
Erland, Dale Counselor x 2
Librarian, Keeper of Ancient Texts x 2

Pallando, Far-Travelling One
Radagast, Tender of Beasts
Alatar, Final Envoy x 2
Meneldor, Misty Mountain Eagle x 2

Radagast’s Herb Bag
Glamdring, Foe-Hammer
Shadowfax, Unequaled Steed

Watch and Wait
Traveler’s Homestead
Last Stand x 3
Strange Meeting x 4

Guidance of the Istari x 4
A Wizard Is Never Late x 2

Bill Ferny, Agent of Saruman x 2
Saruman, Coldly Still
Courageous Easterling x 4
Bold Easterling x 2
Easterling Scout x 4
Armored Easterling x 2
Column of Easterlings x 2
Rampaging Easterling x 3

Pavise x 2
Worn Battleaxe x 2

Stragglers x 4
Caravan from the South x 4
Last Days x 2

Gandalf men are fairly straightforward. Peel burdens, and bang things up! 4 copies of Strange Meeting = massive cycling and strength pumping! Not to mention a Librarian, Brand, Meneldor, and more strength pumping.

Shadow side is a bit intricate. Use your discard-to-play Easter lings to snag a Ferny, toss him on the RB and watch Stragglers throw his strength up sky high!

I like how good ole Smallburrow has a moderated subtitle

I'd say the Westfarthing/Evil Men is worth 20

Ent/Southron around 25

Gandy/Ferny around 40+

I really don't know though.  Obviously UC and C are barely worth anything, but its nice to have it compiled.  I could be underestimating.  It is a mystery  :-k

Yeah, Gandy/Ferny is definitely the most expensive...but that's seems a little...low. Not sure I'd sell 'em for that little. :(

Yeah I could be way off.  I'm probably undervaluing the fact that they include alot of good cards. Rare or not.  maybe someone who actually needs the cards and has some sort of interest can chime in.  That would give you better idea.

I might be interested in one of those. Are you sending a site path with these decks? May seem a strange request, but I lack in some sites from shadows-T&D and without them you can't use the deck .

Well...that is possible. I'm sorta in a similar predicament, so I just pile all my sites together and build the adventure deck right before the game.

All my sites have considerable wear, though, none of them are in mint/near mint condition.

Depending on the price, I might like that Gandy Men/Ferny deck. What do you think is fair?

Well...considering the presence of the following...

Ferny x 2
Grimbeorn
Brand
Pallando
Radagast's Herb Bag
Ghan-Buri-Ghan x 2

Its a lot. But right now I'm not sure if I'm selling, hence the question marks, I'm desperately trying to find some other way to raise the money (which may or may not be successful), because I hate selling my cards... :(

I also don't know what cards are going for anymore, as I haven't purchased in a while, I know relative value to other cards, but I'm not sure if the value has gone up or down monetary-wise, so its up to you to offer.

I hate to say it, but job lots of cards are almost never worth as much as the individual cards would be on their own. Not sure why. But if you want to make maximum money, sell the rare cards individually.

Is there anything to stop Rohan from using For The Mark to derail the possession stacking strat?
