Title: What is malware

I reinstalled lotr gccg lately and was confronted by avg virusdetector with a detection of malware when I wanted to run the lotr batch to get into lotr. When I put it in quarantine i discovered that all files where still there except for the lotrclient.

AVG detected malware. So what is malware and what does it do?
