Title: Leaving TLHH and Gccg
Post by: Smeagollum on February 18, 2011, 09:16:23 AM
Well the tittle says it all. I will leave tlhh and gccg. I cant find myself i how things are develloping here with the so called Lotr PC. Imho a pc should protect the game as it is and not change it. Though you can add new formats.
If people make it so that I cant play what it is allowed according the official rules then those people forces that some people cant play what they like. I am so against that.

So tonight is my last night on Gccg. I will keep my tlhh open till I found a working link for sda.

Regrads,

Jw

KTJ: You were right in the end:)

I am sad to hear this. But come on... don't leave just because of disagreement over one card. It's not like several chosen people have chosen to ban Galadriel, LR. We have put it to vote and that vote is not over yet. Even though it's most likely going to end in favor of banning Galadriel, LR, that's what the majority of players have chosen. And as it has been said many times, this is just a temporary action. The long term goal is to create an errata on cards such as Galadriel, LR. As a matter of fact, I'll soon be creating a thread or two regarding that same think.

This LotR TCG community is not big as it is and it's never a good thing when a player and a member decides to leave (especially if that person has been here for a long time like you).

I am asking you to reconsider and give GCCG, TLHH and this process of game revival a second chance. We are really not trying to limit the game, but expanding it.

If you are adamant on leaving, I am sorry and I wish you good luck.

Exactly!  Give it a little time for things to pan out.  If you want to step away for a bit, that's fine, but please don't give up.

How's that so? You're nuking a culture-afiliated Ring-bearer, which BY DESIGN is made to broaden horizons and expand deckbuilding possibilities. How's banning it expanding the game?

Sorry guys, but it's out of principe. If you start to x-list this one which is next. To your problem is only one solution: create a new format.

And as cards are meant to play: Use errata.

it is very weak to ban something.

For this you don't have to mess with the movieblock format. If someone wants to play movie he can expect he will encounter cards like GLR. If someone plays your format he can expect something else.

Sad thing is that I even don't like movieblock that much....

As you see I have put most cards from fotrand ts block on the sellinglist in gccg and I might say very cheap.

Good luck. Maybe I will check in 3 months to see if you have come to your senses (not meant offensive, but dont know how to put it).

FM, LR is not a Ringbearer. Maybe you are thinking of BoW.

No, he was talking about the (potential) X-ing of LR. Read the context. :uh-huh:

I don't really understand why you are leaving. Banned Galadriel, LR would be for the LOTRTCGDB/GCCG House Rules format. Isn't that what you are asking for, a new format?

Someone official better clarify that erratas and bans are going to be in the house rules format, and that Movie block isn't changing

This.

Come on, stay with us. You act as if we are the Republic, and we are all potential Palpatines. The intention is to fix her, not to ban her for ever IN THIS TLHH FORMAT. Just poorman's etc, not an official format.

GCCG is essentially a private room for TLHH players. House formats are totally appropriate. Decipher's formats remain the main established formats.

He self-deleted, so, no use going further with the topic. As an outsider, let me put as straight as possible: HOUSE rules meant just that, Rules that are in effect when you play IN YOUR HOUSE (or, in this case, on an agreed format). If you don't like them, simply don't play House formats. Duh. That being said, yes, if people are working on a House Format, htye should put the effort in ERRATA'ing cards, not banning them. Also, keep in mind that SOME cards were MADE to be "broken", you don't have to nerf everything the game has to offer. Read about the bannings on MtG. If a card becomes so dominant that nearly everyone plays it, or every deck is built either around it and/or to counter it, THEN they'll think about banning it. The Open Horn combo is an example of something worth thinking about. Frying Pan isn't. It just nerfed an entire Shadow side, so what, big deal, tht doesn't mean everyone will have it. Give Orcs a way to fight back instead of cutting the card from the game. Topic Closed (as the creator himself is gone).
