Title: Scouring of the Shire & Corsair Marauder

Here is the situation:
I play a Corsair Marauder, and spot another corsair for it, so its ability triggers. I want to discard a Hobbit Sword, but the opponent uses Scouring of the Shire to prevent it. Can I reinforce the 2 tokens with marauder?

Nope. You didn't discard a possession, which is the cost so you can't reinforce the tokens, which is the effect.
