Title: Caras Galadhon Confusion

The game text of the site Caras Galadhon says that only one minion may be assigned to each skirmish. Does this mean that defender+1 companions are useless, but that the shadow player can still assign the leftover minions, or does this mean that there will be some unassigned minions left over?

It does basically mean that defender+1 has no effect at that site as far as assigning minions to companions.  It also means that if every companion has a minion assigned to him/her, that any additional minions will remain unassigned.

Are you sure? that site seems a bit broken then, especially in combination with cards like Uruviel, Woodland Maid, and against swarm decks.

Yes, Tbiesty is correct. Besides, Uruviel, Woodland Maid does not swap out the site--she just adds the forest keyword.

Actually, the text for Calas Galadhon* (3U115) says, "While the fellowship is at Calas Galadhon..."

So Uruviel, Maid of Lorien would not make site's text count at further sites because the Fellowship would not be at Calas Galadhon.

Also, Uruviel, Maid of Lorien only affects Fellowship Block sites, so you don't have to worry about the 11S231 copy.

Uruviel, Maid of Lorien doesn't make Caras Galadhon broken. It's actually a useless combo because the fellowship has to be on that site for the text to work. Uruviel takes on the text, but she doesn't become the site and the fellowship is most certainly not on Uruviel (poor Uruviel).

The site that works good with Uruviel, Maid of Lorien is Lothlorien Woods. Your allies become much stronger and in combo with Horn of Boromir or Swan-ship of the Galadhrim they can actually win skirmishes and not just die.
