Title: Laggy server
Post by: TheJord on March 09, 2011, 01:13:52 AM
I tried to play a game tonight (1am PST) but it lagged too much. I was playing with gonmoriel from Serbia if that has any bearing on the diagnosis.

Happened again today, but it was much worse. Tunfu and I were unable to start the game, the connection failed and it lagged out a great deal. This was 2.30pm PST.

I've been REALLY busy with real life recently -- is this still an issue that I need to look into?

i just played a game with no problems, so maybe it just hates thejord... did you add a "for loop" to the code:

for all games involving theJord, gameplay == laggy

Code: [Select]
while(player=='TheJord') {
  if((rand() % 1000) < 5)
    lag++;
  else
    break;
}

Don't forget the endif

Not used in this language. ;)

This was the only two times it has happened to me.

In another instance, gonmoriel and I tried to start a game but the table said "Game begun, wait a second and you can watch". It only happened once.

And lag might be the only thing stopping me from losing games.
