rohan bow. i think that lets you exert a minion. nope thats archery phase. manuever wounding stuff. quick as may be, great day great hour? can't remember what set gdgh is from. rohan doesn't have a heck of a lot of maneuver wounding.

Only thing I can think of is use another culture splash to do it.  Gandalf and Fury of the White Rider come to mind.

i think u mean bharuk kazad... too bad :( my decks are fully one culture or meant to be rainbow. i dont like throwing in a gandy or greenleaf just to prevent somethings. too bad rohan doesnt have any maneuver special thingies.

i actually didn't mean baruk khazad, although that could help. baruk-khazad can actually stop grima with one card. if you use baruk khazad to wound grima, you will have to have another way to wound him or else grima can still dish it out once.

Don't put more than 2 possessions on unbound companions. That's a hard and fast rule I play by in movie format. Works everytime

Maybe Swordthain + Merry's Sword + Weapon Store, if he passes the test. Though I might just go with jdizzy's suggestion.

Pre movie I believe he said.

i'm with uncle elrond on this one. fury of the white rider, or something similar is probably your best best.

Oops, I missed the "Pre" in the original post. In that case, don't play more than 2 possessions on your unbound companions. It works every time.

I gave you a :gp:, but watch out for cards like Worry, Desperate Defense of the Ring, Black Breath, and others of the same ilk.

@V: The only other strategy, which you already expressed a desire of avoiding, is to put some splash comps in there. I recommend Faramir, Son of Denethor. He is probably the best splash comp in the game...okay, maybe not THE best, but certainly in the top 5.

thnx for the replies and suggestions. as i though there is no maneuver shizzle for rohan ( pre movie ).

slash comp top 5, my idea is:

- Aragorn ROTN
- Legolas greenleaf
- Faramir SOD
- Sam SOH
- Gandalf Mithrandir maybe?

my rohan will be fcked against grima :P so be it!

Replace Gandalf with Radagast for movie or Eowyn, Lady of Rohan for TS

I probably wouldn't splash Mithrandir.  The White Wizard or Friend of the Shirefolk would probably be better choices.

The splash idea is only going to work if you want to stack possessions on the character (with the exception of gandalf who is used for his maneuver events. I like grey pilgrim for a splash companion. For his text obviously. FREE CARDS!

How to counter Grima wormtounge, with a Rohan deck filled with possesions? pre movie pls.

All answers so far are wrong, wrong, wrong! :P

There REAL *ahem* answer is to pack the companions that play possessions during Manuever (Eowyn, Daughter of Eomund; Theoden, King of the Golden Hall) and Gamling, Warrior of Rohan for Skirmish. I play these in Movie along with Gandalf's Wisdom -- fantastic! Grima is now useless.

Also, I am surprised that nobody else mentioned this obvious (to me) Rohan solution and went more to cross-cultural ideas. :-k
