Title: Flurry of Blows/Work for the Sword/Etc. vs. Enduring Minions

If I am up against Enduring minions in Movie Block and play a skirmish event like Flurry of Blows on a Dwarf bearing two hand weapons or Work for the Sword on a mounted Rohan Man, am I able to just spot the companion and use only the text before the parentheses, or since the companion fulfills the requirements, am I required to use the text in the parentheses and boost their damage +X?

You do not "choose" the effect. The card simply states that if X, Y happens, and if A, B happens. So if you do fulfill the requirements for the full text, it happens. Unless the card said to SPOT a comapanion fulfilling criteria X, then you could choose to fail to spot it.
