Title: serious question
Post by: NappyKorn on May 30, 2011, 05:19:43 PM
what is the search function and how do i find answer to questions I have here.

who goes first once a game is started? i heard you bid but what exactly do you bid? money? pink slips? deeds?

Just had to post something to keep WTK entertained, assuming he hasn't got to tell someone off or to use search function in a few minutes.

Wow. Thanks buddy.

Edit: That said, since some people have had problems finding the banner that says "Search" in the past, here (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php?action=search) is a link to the search function. I find it is best to "check" the appropriate subforum where I am looking. It will make searching the Archives much easier for previous entries if you just have that box checked. Cheers.

you are the man good sir. Just like to keep people doing what their best at LOL . But you never asked my question what is getting bid I tried searching for bidding and a few other keywords but nothing, and sadly I had to use my CRD as a fire starter for my fireplace last winter :(.

Thankfully, all copies of the CRD are available here (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php/topic,345.0.html). You will find the answer there.

You bid 'tokens' or more specifically 'burdens'. If playing irl, each player takes a certain number of tokens in their hand and whoever has the highest ammount gets to choose if they go first or second.

Those tokens are then immediately placed on your ring-bearer to start the game with that ammount of burdens.

So... You are bidding burdens. Risky, yes. Cards like Ulaire Nelya, Ringwraith In Twilight can really make you pay for bidding [2].

Then again if you're running a site control shadow it's always a good idea to bid at least [1] just to be ahead on the adventure path so you can potentially control a site with your first shadow turn. If going second with a site control deck, you may find that you have the cards in hand to control a site, but cannot do so because you will be stuck on site 1 for your first shadow turn.

I really hope this helps. I do however think that maybe your question was asked as a joke, because you've been around this site for a while and should know by now what bidding is all about... Right?

Gold for MD85 for giving me such a great and long explaination and then at the end asking if it was all a joke . Yes this is all a joke because I know how much WTK likes to have a place to go to and tell people here here here are copies of the CRD and to use the (censored) search feature. JUst giving WTK a place to go to when he feels a bit down and needs a quick pick him up and smack me down.
