This is pretty well all I've used in movie block on gccg the last couple of months and it is very successful. Strong against everything. Outrun your opponent to site nine and shoot up all his companions along the way. Use Seasoned Leader to abuse Ithilien Wilderness and win skirmishes afer softening up with archery. The Uruks are great when everyone is exhausted from the sniping.

Nice deck. I would personally swap 1 Intimidate for a Have Patience.
-
I'm not sure Veteran is that necessary, since he's basically a 3rd Enquea. Sure, if they put you on archery, they'll try to run and dump their hand (so, btw, nine freeps choice), which means extra companions, but I'm not sure it won't happen that often, and you have a small enough deck to not care about it. Not sure if you should cut it, or an Enquea, though. I think I'd cut an Enquea, as Veterans has more sinergy with the strategy overall, but Enquea can snipe out a key companion in times of dire need, so perhaps playing 1 is subpar (specially if you draw him early and has to discard him for some reason) and Veterans should go.

I think I prefer veterans to enquea in this deck simply because he runs seasoned leader. He will cost the same but will exert twice as much and will be harder to beat in a skirmish.

wow so this is the first time i have been looking at cards past two towers set and Sting, Bane of the Eight Legs is insanely good. have that at site 9 and it would save you so many time with fierce skirmish!?!?!!?

Hi,
A friend of mine took your idea and built this deck. So while you are searching to improve this deck, I am looking for weaknesses.
I don't want to build a deck that would be specifically design against this particular deck, but if I could just improve a little my decks to be prepared against it, just in case, that would be great.
The most frustrating thing about this kind of extreme archery deck is that you cannot do much. The archery phase is before the skirmish, so even with big companions, you have to take all those wounds. Even with strong archery on your side, you still get plenty of wounds. The only two stategies against this kind of deck are:
- heal like crazy (requires big deck modifications)
- skip the archery phase as much as you can (but are there many ways on the freeps side?)
Shadow decks based on conditions have their weaknesses (LR), what about archery?
-
Everything depends on what kind of deck you play - can't improve it not knowing what it is :)
My deck of choice in archery-heavy environment would be Noble Leaders. You have companions with high vitality (Elendil with Narsil is 6, Boromir with AtAR and Aragorn with Anduril are 5), good wound prevention (Sapling of the White Tree). It's also easy to have some healing in this deck (Might of Numenor, Ring of Barahir).
-
I do have a Noble leaders deck indeed :-)... and a few others.
My question was more general: are there some global answers against minions archery? I know that there are plenty against conditions (LR, Deep in thought, etc.) or fellowship archery ([Dunland] cards for instance), I didn't now if there were very good cards against minion archery that could be added in decks for security :-). For instance good decks all have condition removal cards...

The only thing all good decks have is cards. There are good and bad matchups for every deck. Removal is only good if your opponent is playing things you can remove.
The only two stategies against this kind of deck are:
- heal like crazy (requires big deck modifications)
- skip the archery phase as much as you can (but are there many ways on the freeps side?)
...And there are companions with large vitality, extra companions, cards like HotLA, enduring, maneuver wounding, etc. Sometimes, the way you play can be enough.

True :)

Thanks, that was the kind of info I expected :)
So I can use my Noble leaders deck (high vitality and healing power), Ring-bound rangers (healing power) or my Gondor Wraith (with Swept Away and enduring companions) :)
Do you know good maneuver wounding cards? I suppose [Gandalf] culture have some

Quick as May Be, Defend It and Hope, Baruk Khazad

In fact, Swept Away is a bad idea... I have to redirect the wounds on the ring bearer! Not good

Yeah, when I play wraiths against archery, I switch strategies. I discard my Swept Away copies and heal the wraiths every chance I get. Spectral Sword and End of the Game can be great for that.

Pippin WoBS is another option to soak up archery wounds
