I have just bought myself a gaming website. I want to start a gaming review/forum site for myself, as I figure thats one of the things I like to do most.
I will probably need some help though as I am not very tech savvy, so anyone with website design/coding skills let me know, I could use you! I am also looking for people to write about games, so if you are interested in writing about games or gaming, let me know as well!

Hey, that sounds pretty cool, what kind of gaming is that?
-
At the moment it covers all consoles, but I would like to cover PC and especially MMO's, just because they are really popular. Eventually I want to move into offline games as well
And the website name is a slight herald to our foregone home, GamesCobra

I could help with offline games, though not with coding. :( I've played a lot of NES, SNES, Mega Drive, Sega CD, some Gameboy, Playstations 1 and 2, and, lately, Xbox 360. Not sure if older consoles are going to be popular in a site, but most sites seem to be drifting away from them, it could be a diferential. PS 2 is still widely played and on some sites it's on the verge of dying.

I would like to do a classic games section, as I have been mostly playing old PC games lately.
-
I'm not sure I "get" the site as is. What exactly is going on there? It's quite hard to search for anything, and there's not a bunch of writing about anything. Care to enlighten me?

Thats the old site. I am going to totally rework it, give me some time.
-
Ah. I figured it was the new site's first steps, but it actually is being teared down. Now it makes more sense, thanks for the explanation! Keep me posted, though, I'm really interested in this!

The old site still remains, but the forums are now in place. Please help me add some sweet content!

Ok, I just registered. Off the top of my head, I think you need different colors (that olive green and gray scheme just isn't cutting it, you need a bit more contrast, maybe a brighter shade of green?). That being said, I think you might want to regroup the boards, see, if you're focusing on videogames, it'd be nicer to have bigger boards for plataforms (like Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox, etc) and add in child boards for separate consoles - for example, loving FF as I do, I find it highly discouraging that there isn't even a PS1 board, it's just grouped under retrogaming or nowhere at all.
Also, as a more wild idea, since it's supposed to be a gaming website (as opposed to a videogaming website), you might want to consider broadening up, branching out for card games, board games, etc. You don't need a whole Forum for that (though it could evolve into, but simply, for instance, pointing in TLHH's direction for more on LotR TCG would suffice), sure, but at least some reviews, pointers and such might make for a different sort of gaming website (for instance, I'd find it awesome to find a site where I can search for a Walkthrough for Assassin's Creed and learn a bit about strategy for chess, or heck, Settlers of Catan!

Thanks FM, I am currently working on the theme, and at the moment there is only 5 to choose from, but I plan on adding more so people can customise however they like.
-
I am still working on the main site, but I would love to get more people involved with the main forums (http://"www.gamescobra.com/forums). If you have interest in any games, please sign up and tell me what you would like to see in a Gaming and Review website.

As an added incentive, I am offering a copy of Medal of Honor on the Xbox 360 (USA, Canada and Mexico only)
