Hey guys, I'm pretty new here. I've played LOTR TCG for a few years with my brother, but just casually. I never played in tournaments or anything, so I kinda suck at building decks. If you could help me by offering some suggestions, that would be awesome. Only one thing: I don't have access to newer cards like Hunters or ROS..if it's only a few cards, then it wouldn't be that big of a deal to buy, I'm just saying this so you don't suggest a whole deck of ROS or T&D cards or something, lol.
I really wanna play a dwarven deck with Gimli, BOG. I'm not really sure about the Shadow side, I was thinking maybe Isengard? The shadow side is really open for anything. Looking forward to your suggestions, thanks!

What format are you wanting to play? Troll Swarm works for standard and isss (B) (B) (B) (B) (B). And doesn't require to many rare expensive cards. Best of all, dwarven cycling is a perfect fit to setting up good hands for the shadow side.

I want to play expanded, even though I don't have that many cards beyond Bloodlines.

Hmm, definitely looks strong. Only problem is I have like none of those cards, lol.
Right now I have a Mordor Siege deck but I'm having problem capturing sites, so it kind of sucks.

Tomorrow I'll try to post a good Uruk tracker swarm that uses primarily cards from blocks 1-5, shouldn't be too hard to get. And very few rares. It actually works quite well.
-
For dwarves, I'd suggest one of these:
Dwarves only - Gimli, BOG, all the companions from Reflections, cheap axes, rings, all their stuff.
Dwarves with Sméagol - this deck is pretty cool, Sméagol helps a lot and sets up the site path for you.
Token Dwarves - pretty fun, thought requires Gloin, SoG from Hunters, and a few other Hunters cards, so could end up a little expensive.
I can build you deck lists for all of those. Just let me know which one.
As for Isengard Shadows, I'd recommend either plain beat down with the biggest guys or trackers. Again, could give you decklists if you wanted.
If you have a list of what you have, I can come up with some deck lists as well, based on what you have.

I love Isengard regroupe wounding! it is cheap to built and deadly if built properly.
The only problem is that you need an hand extension with either or both ithil stone(since you will play ulaire enquea) and or isildur!
if you are interested i will post a deck list!
an other wuite strong shadow is Evil man (cheap to built, no rare extansive except for the voice) with or without saruman from ROS if you have it

I'm still interested in a Shadow deck, someone sent me a sweet Dwarf deck, so I don't need that one now. I mainly have cards from sets 1-7 and 11-13.

Isengard Tracker swarm:
34 Cards
Uruk Scout x4
Uruk Runner x4
Ugluk, Servant of Saruman x3
Uruk Foot Soldier x3
Uruk Captain x4
Uruk Plains Runner x2
Unferth, Grima's Body Guard x2
Bill Ferny, Swarthy Sneering Fellow x1
Abandoning Reasoning for Madness x4
Weary x4
Greed x3
Set up good hands with ARfM, and pile on massive wounds with Weary and Greed. Finally, Uruk Captain can be used to pull back your minions.

Looks good. One question, if I have Greed out, can I use it multiple times in one maneuver phase?
-
You can use it unlimited times as long as you pay its cost.. but you can't combine them in a single maneuver action...
-
Oldwizard, I'm quite interested in seeing that Dwarven deck, since I am in a similar situation as you, would you mind posting it here?
-
As for minion sides, if you don't have too many cards, I would just start out by putting all the strongest uruk-hai of the same culture into the deck, along with the better conditions that you have. Play a few games, see which cards work, which cards you tend to discard, and how the deck does at generally killing things. Adjust the deck accordingly. Rinse and repeat.
This can work for any minion culture, with exception to swarming based cultures like [Dunland] and [Moria]; and text based cultures like [Wraith]
After you get a better feel for the game, you can set up a good minion side with the cards you have. I would also suggest looking through the database to get a good idea of whats out there that you may be able to use.

And if you haven't, check out GCCG? There always are players there you, have access to unlimited cards, and as a bonus you'd make Kralik happy...

My favorite deck is run off of Gimli, Thorin III, Durin, Dwarven Warrior, Dwarven Axe and Nobody Tosses a Dwarf. The shadow is run off of Desperate Measures, Tower of Barad-Dur, Desperate Defense of the Ring and The Irresistible Shadow. Its pretty sweet.
