Title: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on July 26, 2011, 06:18:57 AM
The NFL lockout ended yesterday. I can finally breath normally now.

Were there ever serious risk involved? It seemed through the whole thing like the callendar was never in any real danger. And what came out of it, anyway, in the end? Kinda curious.

I knew they would eventually get a deal done. But they were taking so long! They only had to cancel 1 game(But pre-season so not really big at all). Just glad its done. Now I have to wait only a few more weeks for pre-season. Anyone doing Fantasy football this year?

Yep I am!  We should consider having a TLHH league

I am going in a league with family and some friends but being in 2 leagues sounds fun!

Changed the title.  Who all would be interested in a TLHH fantasy league?  We'd need at least 8, probably more like 10.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: FM on July 28, 2011, 08:10:56 AM
If I even knew how to play on this I'd probably be interested, I'm game for most games.

Yes 10 would work better I think. So that way people don't Mike Vick and Philip Rivers and Tom Brady. Happened to me last year and that person won. Would we do a snake draft or an auction draft?

I'd be game for a fantasy league.

It's pretty easy FM.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_football_%28American%29

that's 6 people interested now.  Who else is up for the challenge?

and I would prefer Snake, and should we do it on yahoo or espn or cbs?

If you need more I'd join even though I do about 10 leagues already.

I've never done it, but I'll try.

In other news, has anyone else heard that Plaxico Burress might be coming back to the Giants?
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League

I'd prefer ESPN as I don't have a yahoo account, but whatever is good.

9 people! just one more! Do we have any volunteers for commish? I have heard that Burress is interested in the Giants.

Also, I'm pretty happy with the Pats acquisitions of Haynesworth and Johnson for pennies on the dollar.  If Belichick can get Haynesworth to try...maybe we won't need a stud OLB.

Ok, I think I now what I'm getting into now. I also don't have an yahoo account, so I guess we're stuck with ESPN. I'm guessing their system is pretty comprehensible and that I'll be able to navigate it without help even being a first timer. Because of this, as well, I'd aslo vote for a snake draft, as I'd have no clue as to how to manage a budget. Are we going with league approval for trades? Or third party referee? I think league approval is simpler, and might be quicker, but it might also ruind some of the fun, like, people could actually team up against someone based solely on the fact that said someone is winning, which makes for poor playing experience.
Also, I'm not sure I get the whole "starter", "bench" and free agent signing deal, I've always thought that starters would make full points and benched players would make less, but it does not seem to be the case, only starters actually make points unless someone is replaced, is that it?
And about free agents, I suppose we only draft a portion of the complete roster, and then proceed to filling with free agents? Or we will draft a full team and then release/sign new free agents?
Last, how does free agent signing work? I mean, if I want to sign a player and sop beats me to it, do I waste my pick? Or do I get to sign someone else?

Yes, it's very easy to navigate, a first-timer should have no problem

Because of this, as well, I'd aslo vote for a snake draft, as I'd have no clue as to how to manage a budget. Are we going with league approval for trades? Or third party referee? I think league approval is simpler, and might be quicker, but it might also ruin some of the fun, like, people could actually team up against someone based solely on the fact that said someone is winning, which makes for poor playing experience.

The league approval function is only so newbies like yourself don't get screwed in trades.

Also, I'm not sure I get the whole "starter", "bench" and free agent signing deal, I've always thought that starters would make full points and benched players would make less, but it does not seem to be the case, only starters actually make points unless someone is replaced, is that it?

Yes, starters are the only ones who make points, benched players' points are the tiebreaker.

And about free agents, I suppose we only draft a portion of the complete roster, and then proceed to filling with free agents? Or we will draft a full team and then release/sign new free agents?

Most leagues draft full rosters then free agent signing is after.

Last, how does free agent signing work? I mean, if I want to sign a player and sop beats me to it, do I waste my pick? Or do I get to sign someone else?

That depends on how the draft works, if we did a snake draft, then the person who drafted last would be first in line for free agents for the first week, then the person who drafted second to last the next week, and so on. In an auction draft, you would get a certain amount (say $100) to spend on free agents throughout the season. At the beginning of each week you secretly bid on free agents you want, and on like, thursday or friday, whoever bid the highest gets that player.

Post by: FM on July 29, 2011, 11:45:27 AM
I like draft better. What I still don't get is this: from what I've gathered, I thought you choose a free agent, and 1-2 days later it's revealed who got it, but now it seems it's draft-like, meaning, one person at a time, so no fighting over picks. Which is it?

PS: Yes, I know league approval is supposed to counter newbies getting screwed, I'm just pointing out that it also allows some room for screwing with a player for doing well, so I guess that's a point in favor of third party refs, although timing may be an issue. I'm actually getting pretty psyched about this, always wanted to try a hand at it! I kept hearing the narrators talking about how the Fantasy players would be pissed at X or Y, etc, and it always intrigued me.
There's a system like that for our socer national championship, it's just not that appealing to me though (specially since I'm a much more hardcore fan of my soccer team than I am of the Cowboys, so it's probably easier for me to keep an open mind when playing Fantasy NFL rather than Brazilian Championship).

Sorry I wasn't entirely clear. This would be better as an example...

Let us say I drafted first, SoP fifth and you last. On Monday morning, I see a RB I like, and I instantly claim him. So right now I have "dibs" on him so on Thursday, so long as no one else wants him, he will be added to my team. However, since I drafted first, if you or SoP claimed him, that would supersede my claim to him because you're higher up in the pecking order for free agents because you drafted later. Then, throughout the season, it rotates up each week whoever is on top for the week's free agent pool. So, with 10 people, the next week you'd be dropped to last, with me and SoP moving up to ninth and fifth, respectively.

Make sense?

Draft is better for those who haven't done Fantast Football yet. Yes it goes from team with worst record to team with best to get a free agent.

Post by: sickofpalantirs on July 29, 2011, 05:24:56 PM
Yeah I played for the first time last year and had no problems figuring things out.  I ended up scoring the most points in my league, but only one 7 games :).  we still need one more person though...
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: mille1212 on July 29, 2011, 11:26:23 PM
I've seen this done differently too.  In some leagues I've played in the free agent selection order is based on record so the person with the worst record picks first and the person with the best record picks last.

Each player basically puts in all of their free agent selections by Tuesday night.  On Wednesday morning the system divies them out based on what I said above.  If two teams put in for the same player, then the player goes to whoever was higher in the free agent selection order.  That's why if my QB gets hurt and I happen to need another one for next week, then I might want to put in for two QBs just in case I don't get one of them.

Usually I draft back ups for each position with the exception of sometimes defenses and kickers.  I would then use free agency pick ups to cover buy weeks for those positions unless I want zeroes for scores that week.  You will also always have players that emerge as good pick ups throughout the year due to injuries or just unexpected success.  Injuries are a killer in fantasy football.  In fact I've been known to draft a RBs backup just in case.

At any rate, have fun.  The thing I like about fantasy football is that you will be able to watch any game on tv and have someone to root for or root against...

I like draft better. What I still don't get is this: from what I've gathered, I thought you choose a free agent, and 1-2 days later it's revealed who got it, but now it seems it's draft-like, meaning, one person at a time, so no fighting over picks. Which is it?

Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League

I think weactually have to post our time zones to make it easier to set up. I'm at GMT -3. Late evening (any day except Friday and Saturday) or early morning (weekends) work better for me (MY early morning, of course, considering time zone differences).
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on August 01, 2011, 01:33:51 PM
So maybe Sunday could work for you 2. Does anyone disagree to have it on a Sunday?
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: mille1212 on August 01, 2011, 02:12:39 PM
It's going to be tough to make something fit with GMT, PST, and other time zones.  I live in the PST time zone and unfortunately I'm unavailable from 10:00 am until around 8:00 pm on Sundays.  I would be willing to participate in a draft anytime between Saturday night at 8:30 pm until Sunday morning (finished by 10:00 am) PST time to accomodate anyone overseas time zone issues.

So maybe Sunday could work for you 2. Does anyone disagree to have it on a Sunday?

ok I just accepted the invite. I will go ahead and set up my auto draft orders since I will be pulling a 12 hour shift at work the time of the draft. I guess a team that auto drafts is better than no team at all . I will just try to pick up free agents and do some trading during the season to fine tune my team.

Actually another one of my ESPN leagues was able to change the draft time after the league was created.  Another option, I'll create an ESPN account, pm you the email and join the league, let it auto-draft, and whoever wants to can take over that one.

That'd be sweet as a last resort. Otherwise, if no one wants to take it over, we could simply not trade with that account and switch it around weekly for piloting purposes. Or let ket pilot it. :P

Good luck with the draft tonight, hopefully my auto picks will proof decent for me. I have to leave for work 50 minutes before the draft starts so I can at least see where I will be drafting. In the morning I will log in to see who I got and see if I can pick up a few free agents before the season starts .

haha it was auto-draft. i reckon i'm pretty set in the QB with breeze and big ben. my TE is a little week.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: sickofpalantirs on August 18, 2011, 07:14:46 PM
Yeah I keep waiting to pick up TE's, then I get blocked, then I wait longer, and I end up with Dustin Keller as my starting TE.  But you can't argue with Andre Johnson Larry Fitzgerald and Vincent Jackson as starting WR's (well, if you look at my RB's you can...)

Since Gate Troll is AWOL, anyone have a problem with me giving the 8th team to Sk8rD13?

Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on August 19, 2011, 06:41:58 AM
I don't have a problem with it. I like my running backs, quarterbacks, my WR's are iffy but I do have Calvin Johnson. Like my TE. So overall I like my team.

On a side note did anyone watch the Eagles and Steelers last night? Mick Vick was just shut down. I think teams are figuring him out. But it was the Steelers so hey.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: FM on August 19, 2011, 07:42:10 AM
Which IS my defense, so hey. :P For a first-timer, I think I like my team overall, if I didn't get shafted by mm, I'd have Big Ben as my backup quarterback, which is nothing to sneeze at, but as far as backups go, I figure I'm ok with Mark Sanchez. Not great, but ok. And I think he had quite some room for improvement, so I'm guessing he'll have a better Season this time around, and anyway, I'm still confident in my starter. I'm not sure I like my bench very much, but it has potential, I just might need to keep a close eye on my watch list, see if a gamgle I might make will pay off or not.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on August 19, 2011, 08:27:50 AM
Well you have Tom Brady so no worries there. And Ben-Jarvus Green-Ellis did great last night as well. Which is your guy! You play GT first or Sk8rD13.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: FM on August 19, 2011, 09:11:10 AM
Yeah, Ben-Jarvus is actually my biggest worry on the starters, but he's been doing fine. And Brady, well, he's just solid. Also, since I'm brazilian, and he's the closest I can get to one there, I just had to. :)
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League

By design. I don't expect to do it right the first time around. Though backups do worry me, I watched Romo go down that game and it was a horrible, horrible feeling, being a Cowboys fan.

here let me go look at things...I'm actually thinking  I might chill with things for a bit.  I love Felix Jones this year, so I have 3 RB2 quality backs, and I'm stacked at WR so I only need to start a couple RB's a week.  And with my recent waiver pickups of Shonn Greene and Mike Tolbert I'm pretty satisfied.

Yeah, I'm still a bit thorn on Jermichael Finley or Jimmy Graham as TE, I like Finley more, but with the array of receivers Green Bay is, well, packing (see what I did there? :P), he might not get enough face time to be worth starting (I was gonna go and say maindecking, actually funnier) him, except depending on match-up issues against the Saints.
I'm looking forward to scoring some points on monday, though... Kinda need them.

I too like the eagles, but when you see an apple you call it an apple not an orange. On that note My first favorite team is the dolphins and boy have they been the laughing stock of the NFL for quite awhile. After that I guess I would pick the 49ers (because I grew up watching Rathman, Rice, Montana and those great players and loved them since). Glad to see them doing well at the beginning of the year . What about those Lions? I'm in a few pick em leagues and im afraid to jinx them by picking them to win each week so I will stay true and vote against them each week and hope that lets them win . Not a lions fan but I do like to see team make turn arounds like the lions are doing and I will pull for them each week until they go against the Dolphins (which they don't play this year) or 49ers (which they have week 6). I wouldn't mind seeing the Lions go 15-1 and if they end up beating the 49ers I might actually route for them to go 16-0. That team has been so bad for so long you can't help but hope they make something of themselves now or soon.

Yeah, I'm getting clobbered as well, the Steelers' Defense is really letting me down, I expected more from them.

I think your main problem is you put too many eggs in the same basket. Your lineup was 90% patriot/jet players. If the team has a bad week your entire fantasy team is dead. I remember the first year I played in a fantasy league I made that same mistake picked players from the team (granted I can't remember who the team was) I predicted to be the best in the league did't give my self variety and the sucked it up hard that year and I had a miserable fantasy year. I still tend to pick a few starters from the same team, but I'm no longer afraid to take the risk of grabbing some1 I think may be a little under the radar.

In the fantasy league I started with my family the all laughed at me when I took Aaron Rodgers the first year after Favre left. I won the league that year and have managed to draft Rodger every year since because they don't wanna admit he is that good and I show something they all missed. They basically tell me every year he is gonna prove his worth and flop and they won't take the chance and leave him for me to draft in later rounds as I pick up decent runningbacks in the first 2. Granted it a risk I take every year waiting on him til round 2 or 3, but my family are all football fanatics and they can't admit when they are wrong .

Yeah, I really need some better RB and WRs. At least, some more consistent ones. And decide who my TE is once and for all. Can't seem to get enough mileage off of LT and both Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley are underperforming severely. As for options, Plaxico Burress is not pulling his weight, and Randal Cobb is a wild gamble I decided to take, so can't expect much anyway.

I won again. I wish people would fix there line up so it would be a fare game.(I have Forte And Megatron vs. Bears D and I'm up by 25.) Did anyone see Tebow yesterday? #$&*@!! Once he went in that place went Insane!!!!(Live in Denver so I get all Broncos games). And the Packers cam down from 14-0 to win 25-14! Badass and a good day I would say.

Who knows Megatron and Forte may fumble alot and the the bears defensive may get a shutout and several turnovers for touchdowns. Who am I kidding, I'm with you, in every league I'm in (including my family only league) you have several people who forget to make changes when they start the season out bad =(.

Not sure I had a shot at all there, but BRady did play terribly. Would you be interested in trading Forte or Megatron? I'm in dire need of a RB/WR that puts up decent points on average, mine are killing me.

I have Desean Jackson (though he has yet to impress) and perhaps Ahmad Bradshaw I might be willing to trade for a decent QB. I guess I haven't given Schaub a fair chance yet and Matty Ice is depressing me each week. I did take Hasselback a wekk or 2 ago just in case but I'm still not convinced his start isn't a fluke myself.

Might even consider trading away Micheal Turner if I can get a good QB for him .

Well, I have Mark Sanchez as a spare QB up for trade, NK, and that's as much as I'll say about him. As for Forte, I'm willing to part ways with Jermichael Finley, from my starters, and not sure about who else, would depend on the trade.

I love the 49ers, I'm glad to see them winning again . I still hope the lions have a good season but glad it was the 49ers that gave them that first loss. Not a Lions fan, but always like to see the teams that have been bottom of the barrel change things up. Now let GB stay undefeated until they face Detroit (in week 12), LOL.

So is anyone gonna take a chance on Carson Palmer? I believe I just read that the Bengals broke down and traded him to the Raiders. I might have taken the chance, but I'm currently awaiting a trade to finalize for hopefully a QB. With my luck though the new QB is gonna get hurt and fall apart once he hits my team, LOL.

in an 8 team league I see no reason to take a chance with Palmer.    If he is the Palmer from 3 years ago, maybe it will work out for the raiders (and enterprising fantasy owners) if he is Palmer from last year it could be very very bad.

Man, FM you have to be about as lucky as me at bad timing benching players. You been starting Plaxico all year and what do you know you bench him and he scores 3 touchdowns =(. I thought I had a better QB in Stafford after a trade and guess what he stunk it up and Schaub has a decent game from my bench, LOL. I guess that's just how the game goes huh? THe Problem is in a 8-team league you have more elite level fantasy QB's then teams, so unless someone really needs bye help, or can get a serious upgrade ( I lucked out into having Stafford and Romo) Qb isn't in as much of a premium.  I'll take a look at your roster and see if there's a possible trade though.

EDIT: Never mind.  Forgot that half my players are injured.  I have very little available trade assets right now.

Even though I should have my game well in hand I hope Brady passes to neither tight end this game and feeds Wes Welker. I just want to run up the score, LOL. I'm up by 61 at the moment, but I still have to face Brady, Benjarvis, and Gostkowski. I still have Welker, so Im feeling confident. I've felt in control right before the last game of the week and been disappointed though, LOL.

So Long story short, to heck with those tight ends feed Welker the ball all game Mr. Brady .

Yeah, I sure learned a lot for a first try. True, my team is also falling apart, but I'm still having fun (and missing my first 2 picks to autodraft didn't help, either). I'm thinking on promoting Dan Bailey to starters, specially now that Dallas does not have Austin to score TD's anymore, I think I might get more and more mileage out of him rather than Gostkowski, since between Wes Welker, Hernandez and Gronkowski, and sometimes Benjarvus, NE is well served in the TD department, so Field Goals are a bit more rare, and extra points need pretty high mileage out of them to make it worth it to keep the kicker.

Yeah 10 team leagues are a lot better.  Though injuries can really kill you there...I had Jamaal Charles, Jahvid Best and Felix Jones as week 1 starters in a 10-teamer...thankfully I have DeMarco Murray (Honestly, I can't think of a better free agent pick-up this year, maybe Cam Newton?)  I wish he got more touchdowns, but when he is giving you 11-12 points of yardage without one I can't complain.

Miles Austin can't stay healthy, Fred Jackson gone for the Year, Peterson who knows when he will play again since the vikings just suck, I started with Schaub but let him go but he turned up to go out for the year. Even when I picked a replacement for an injuried player that play 5 minutes in their game and go out injuried (Kevin Smith). Just bad luck this year, but somehow I seem to still be doing good .

Man I feel like im bound to make the wrong decision again this week. Miles Austin and Robinson are both questionable but both are expected to play. My problem lies in the fact I own them both and if Austin plays that means it will be more Austin and Bryant, but I feel if I start Austin he is going to not be 100% meaning Robinson might be better. I guess since my gut feeling has been more illness than instinct I guess I will start Robinson since espn claims he should end with more points, LOL. Either was im sure who is on the bench tis week will be the right choice the way my luck has been lately.

Nappy is really putting up good numbers, and he's getting peterson back this week. but for some reason my team has been playing better these last few weeks than ever before.

Who can stand against the might of the Gronk?

Maybe Gronkowski will get up to use the toilet on the plane on his way to Denver and be mysteriously sucked out the door that wasn't latched properly before take off. Hey a man can hope, this is fanatasy football after all and everyone knows how important this is to the egos of mankind .

@mm:

Yeah your team is on fire right now. Its all about timing, sometime. Your team caught fire at the perfect time and mine has been hit with injury after injury at the wrong time. I'm not sure how I'm still putting up decent numbers each week still, But it would be nice to still have Fred Jackson, Fred Davis and a Desean Jackson from a year or two ago.

Anyway good luck to you this week and may all the bad things happen to your team that grants me a solid victory j/k. It's been a great league and a great year, if I'm still around and this happens again next year let me know I can do the yahoo route if needed .

Wait...wtf?

fake edit:  I just checked apparently I drafted Gronkowski in the 16th round.

Aug 18th
JOHN dropped Rob Gronkowski, NE TE to Waivers
JOHN added Dustin Keller, NYJ TE from Waivers to Bench

And apparently dropped him for Dustin freakin' Keller?  WTF?  that makes none of the sense, even with the benefit of hindsight Gronkowski is obviously better then winslow.

1.  How did he last till the 16th round after freakin Kellen winslow?  EDIT:  just checked rankings, everyone had him above Kellen Winslow, albeit at around 200th overall and just #12 for week 1 rankings.
2.  how did I not know that I drafted him?
3.  How the heck did I think Dustin Keller was a better option? Especially since right after I got him I tried to trade with felipe to get Jimmy Graham...
4.  My word, my team could've have been so much better...

Oh well. You should pay more attention ;) But I need Rodgers to just be a tottal beast this week man. And everyone else of course....

Yeah I keep waiting to pick up TE's, then I get blocked, then I wait longer, and I end up with Dustin Keller as my starting TE.

This just keeps getting weirder and weirder...It's like I honestly thought that I drafted Dustin Keller...

Hey! sombody thumbs downed SoP after i thumbs upped him!
btw, your team looks scary lately... solid numbers all around, and seahawks defense putting up a brawl! 26 points, sheesh!

not to mention, your's is the only team to make the playoffs with more points scored against than points for.

looks like things are pretty much locked in all the way around. good luck in the final round everyone!

yeah no idea how my team is pulling this off...it looks like i'll be playing you for the last two weeks...it would be mildly ironic if Gronkowski ends up being the difference.

indeed. though it wouldn't be too suprising, he has been the difference in many of my games.

Where were those sad numbers for you when we faced each other, LOL. Anyway me and Freak are putting up big numbers against each other. Not to mention if anyone has Jerome Simpson starting this week should get an extra 10 points for that insane flip for a score. The height on that jump and the fact he landed on his feet has to be worth something in fantasy leagues .

Good work Macheteman! a well-earned victory.  I'm satisifed with my runner up finish, though a little dissapointed about the epicness of my teams choking in the final two weeks.

i think i want to see baltimore and new york actually. i don't like the ravens but i really hate the pats. and i think the giants deserve some credit for the way they have played the last few weeks of the regular season, just to squeak into the playoffs and then also the wins that have them playing for a superbowl bid. but if th eniners make it i won't complain. i just don't want to see the patriots win. again...

Patriots haven't won since 2004...I think either NFC team can beat the Pats though so I'm not very optimistic.

Peyton is gonna be a Bronco. So everyone one on FB should calm down about Tebow not starting. Geez......

Is he now? I heard he's also hearing offers from Arizona and Miami. Is that official?
PS: I think a Miami Manning would be awesome for the league, one less weakling to just get punched.

Yep, it's official. The Broncos have already presented him officialy as a new addition. What's gonna happen to Tebow, though? Think he's gonna be ok with being Manning's second?
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on March 20, 2012, 02:25:38 PM
The Broncos are trying to trade him. I think maybe the Dolphins might be interested possibly. And Manning is getting 96 million dollars for 5 years.....
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on March 20, 2012, 02:29:56 PM
So Dolphins basically said no to the Tebow idea. But the Jaguars, Packers and Jets seem interseted enough.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: FM on March 20, 2012, 02:35:14 PM
Packers? Really? Not sure Tebow would be any more happy being number two to Aaron Rodgers rather than Peyton Manning. If anything, Manning's remaining career is shorter. Now, I can get behind him going to the Jets, living in NY and all that. I don't think that, given the opportunity, he'd go to Jacksonville. Depends on where the Jets stand on Mark Sanchez, though, since he'd DEFINITELY not want to be number 2 to Mark freaking Sanchez, the guy deserves better.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on March 21, 2012, 09:26:30 AM
Yeah I think the Packers would just not use him at all. Jaguars would sell tickets like crazy(they don't do to well currently). And I would hate to be Mark Sanchez's. ;)

He may be a Jet but there messing things up about the contact.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on March 23, 2012, 09:11:30 AM
So Tebow is a Jet. The Broncos got a 4th and 6th round picks for Tebow, a 7th round pick, and the Jets picked up his contract with Denver I believe.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: FM on March 23, 2012, 02:12:19 PM
So what's Sanchez now? A Jaguar? Because let's face it, being Tebow's #2 means he'll just end his career warming the bench.

Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: FM on March 26, 2012, 09:01:04 AM
Wait, who said Tebow was the starter?

Why would they start Sanchez anyway? If you're gonna start a quarterback that is... let's say "less than stellar", why not start the new guy (who, incidentally, took his team to the playoffs) so he can earn XP and get used to the playbook? Not to mention he's bound to sell more jerseys than Sanchez anyway, might as well milk it.
Title: Re: NFL discussion/TLHH Fantasy League
Post by: LOTRFreak15 on March 27, 2012, 07:23:26 AM
They recently gave Sanchez(maybe early last season) a new contract. So until he throws like 3 interceptions and the crowd starts chanting Tebow. I think he'll be ok. But they did say Tebow will run some wild-cat offense during the game. So I guess thats one use. But I really think they are trying to boost sales on merchandise and tickits with Tebow here.

Crazy draft last night. Anyone else watch it. I was dissapointed that the Rams traded with Dallas because I wanted them to get Claiborne. But the Rams have 3 of the first 13 picks for the second round :) And the Seahawks pick boggles my mind. And the Broncos moved completly out of the first round.
