Title: Horses and Wargs
Post by: skatepharmacy on August 02, 2011, 01:49:51 AM
So I recently pulled out my cards and started playing again and tried putting a new deck together using FP mounts and Moria Orcs... That didn't go so well haha, so I thought it would be fun to put together a Rohan mounts and warg riders combo. Any deck ideas or suggestions?

Also I have been searching the internet for Simbelmyne and I am not having a lot of luck, anyone looking to get rid of a few?

I'd drop 1 Simbelmyne for another Thundering Host, and Armory for another Fortress Never Fallen (You'll need the condition thrashing in movie.)  Get rid of the hobbit sword and 1 sam and change them for Eowyn, probably Lady of Ithilien and Eowyn's Sword and change the Flaming Brand (which is illegal) for another riders mount.  You can't have that starting fellowship as you'd have to play Eomer at 3 before you could play Hrethel.  So if you take my earlier advice I recommend Eowyn and Eomer.

I would definitely try to get Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien, starting her with Eomer, Third Marshal of Riddermark is a solid starting fellowship, and then you can also pack Eowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade for a surprise play. As is, Elite Rider/Eomer is a good starting fellowship, and you can snag Hrethel via Simbelmyne.

Flaming Brand is band in movie.

You can't start Hrethel and Eomer, Hrethel has to spot a [Rohan] man to be played, and Eomer has to spot a [Rohan] man to be twilight -1, and they're played one at a time so...

I'd dump the Mithril Coat and Hobbit Sword for 2x We Left None Alive. Many minions will be exhausted due to the horses' exertions, which would trigger We Left None Alive. In a related note, I'd dump the Arrow-Slits, Armory, and all 4 Work For The Sword for another Fortress Never Fallen, 2 more Thundering Host, and say... 2 Leowyn and Deor. Arrow Slits and Armory are specialties for meta use, Work For The Sword's damage bonus is useless due to the natural damage of the spears and the horses' exertions. The extra strength and healing from and Thundering Host and An Honorable Charge are better options. Leowyn gives you extra healing, and Deor gives you strength in a pinch.

i'd probably swap out 1x sam, soh for 1x aragorn, rotn.

the reason: one is burden removal the other is is your swarm protection. or you can drop both to soak up some wounds as you make it to site 9.

i also agree about eowyn, loi. alway run her. she rocks.

Swap Hrethel for another Elite Rider. Or, if you want to keep hrethel, swap them in your starting line up.

Starting
Eomer Third Marshal of Riddermark
Hrethel

You can't start Hrethel and Eomer, Third Marshal of Riddermark. To play Hrethel, you need to spot a [Rohan] man. To make Eomer's cost -1, you need to spot a [Rohan] Man.

Like I said...

Updated! I have slowly been acquiring the needed cards and i think its ready now, thank you for the ideas! I am not extremely familiar with the ROTK sites, any suggestions with those? I know i will probably use the  [Rohan] site 6 but beyond that what do you think the best approach is?

You need plains for Wolves of isengard, so look for those in the start.
