Here is another retarded idea from me. I'm seriously guessing that this one won't work as expected or I've over looked something obvious here. It's only 30 cards and has multiplies of several cards so there is room to add and/or replace extra copies with other ideas. I would like to keep it as close to 30 cards as possible. Here is the list with a strategy.
Frodo and Ring:
*The One Ring, Answer To All Riddles(4R1)
*Frodo, Old Bilbo's Heir(1R289)
Fellowship (30)
1x *Bilbo, Retired Adventurer(1R284)
1x *Farmer Maggot, Chaser of Rascals(1R288)
1x Hobbit Party Guest(1C297)
2x *Narsil, Blade of the Faithful(9R+34)
1x *Boromir, Son of Denethor(1U97)
1x *Merry, Friend to Sam(1R302)
1x *A Light in his Mind(10U108)
2x *The Saga of Elendil(1R114)
3x Birthday Present(10R104)
3x Citadel Of Minas Tirith(3R40)
3x Escape(4R300)
4x The Shire Countryside(3R113)
4x Nine-fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom(10C112)
3x Hobbit Sword(1C299)
Strategy:
Kind of straight forward use Boromir to pump Frodo and Merry up quite a bit and use Merry to pump Frodo and Boromir up. Basically get escape on Merry and Narsil and Saga of Elendil on Boromir. Use Birthday Present to keep Nine-fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom (as many as possible) in hand each turn. Boromir will have 5 vitality so he can pump Frodo or Merry by 12, use NFFatRoD to remove the burden(s) added by Birthday Present to heal Boromir back up with The Shire Countryside and pump the hobbits up ALOT. Now when Boromir is fighting exert him to pump Merry then exert Merry to pump Boromir. I believe once you get the Escape on Merry with a sword and the Narsil and Saga on Boromir you can get Merry or Frodo to strength 29 (using 1 NFFatNoD and The Shire Countrysides to exhaust him twice) and you can get Boromir to strength 24 exhausting Merry after pumping him with Boromir (possibly higher if you have the NFFatRoD to trigger healing from The Shire Countryside). So if you had all 4 NFFatRod for Boromir's fight and healed Merry fully and Boromir fully once each Boromir could hit strength 48+ I believe . This Deck revolves around a ton of Healing so it packs 4x The Shire Countryside and 3x Citadel of Minas Tirith and Hobbit Party Guest to heal Farmer Maggot, Chaser of Rascals to give Merry that heal when needed. Running Bilbo to get my Shire Countryside reshuffled in case I run into some discarding.
Anyway, let me know what you think and what would be a nice shadow to pair with this. I was think of a Ninja Gollum deck so I could use They Stole it to get rid of the extra copies of unique cards that would end up staying in my hand all game.
Thanks for reading and for any comments that may come my way,
NK

I wonder how long it takes to set up, you know, so you aren't owned by a pack of random Goblins on site 4.
-
Not a clue, it's small so hopefully not too long. I'm looking for a shadow for it so I can give it a test run.
-
Idk if you need the 3 Citadels with Shire Countryside? Looks fun. I run a deck like this, cept with a pair of Sting, BH, and Smeagol, AH, with Don't look at them. At that point, NFFATROD is pretty key for threat removal, unless you want to throw in a Hearts Raised.
Anyway, yea, I think it needs 1 or 2 more backup companions; it's very swarm-susceptible, as I've experienced. I'd splash in a Sam, Faramir, or Gorn of some kind for backup.
-
I thought of using Faramir, Wizard's pupil instead of Boromir with Boromir my Brother but he only pumps unbound Hobbits. Might still add him to help Merry. I think if it set up fast (untested to this point still no shadow) I could survive a swarm since I could pump Frodo (or any of the 3 pretty high). Problem is I've been having the worst luck with draws on GccG lately, LOL. I may also go with a version of Sam just for giggles and if it sets up fast just play him to kill him.

hows it goin' anautikus? always good to see you around.
as for the deck, i've played a lot of builds with this concept, and yeah, swarm can be a pain. wounding isn't always fun either, but with the healing it isn't so bad. the good news is, with 3 comps you should be choking pretty well.
having no condition removal could be a problem. if you can disrupt your opponent's flow whilst choking the twilight from him, you could be in good shape.
maybe a good way to take care of swarm would be fitting in a copy of aragorn rotn, and 4x gondor bowmen. the bowmen are free and you can save them for when you need them, and gorn can take on a host to save you, or take the exerts for the bowmen.
another option might be using 4x shadowplay, if you face dunland or moria, you can knock out a few of their minions before they have a chance to do anything or play any scimitars.
on the other hand, as a rock-paper-scissors deck, this isn't so bad. you can take on any minion in the game and make mincemeat out of it.

What's up mm! I've just been creeping around the boards as of late haha :) Need to get on gccg more haha.
Idk about shadowplay, since you'd want Merry clean until skirmish. but yea a good swarm is always a pain; RotN sounds like a good idea even by himself.
NK, you should run an Enduringul shadow! :uh-huh:

My two :gp: are as follows:
You are not going to make it too far in Movie Block if you only have three companions: Particularly if only two are meant to fight and the third one is supposed to stay clean until the skirmish phase.
Also, why isn't at least one of those Hobbit Sword**** a Sting, Baggins Heirloom or Sting, Bane of the Eight Legs?

when i run similar builds i usually have smeagol, slinker. that way i have a comp who can handle losing to a damage+7 minion and come out unscathed. also you can pitch minions with don't follow the lights, and heal up with not listening/shire countryside combo. but that is a significant amount of cards for this deck to include.

Agreed, as I mentioned. Aragorn, RotN! Faramir, SoD! And adding Sting, BH would beg to throw in a Smeagol of some sort, Slinker, or Always Helps. And I love Not Listening and Don't Follow the Lights. :)

Where is there and back again? You could add Birchseed, Tall Statesman, which can help fighting, or surviving, cycle and heal Merry.

Didn't want to remove this thread and affect other's post counts and gold, but I have Posted the finished deck list here using most of this decks ideas but in a different way:
