Why was Frenzy of Arrows broken?

With Gothmog, Morgul Leader and Saruman, Servant of Sauron, thats 7 wounds for [8], play another, thats 11 wounds for [1](0), and that's if they don't have any followers of there own. Horn decks would be obliterated, as would RB Hobbits.

The combo was made more powerful when run with Goblin Hordes, Isengard Underling and Orkish Lackey. Once Saruman, Servant to Sauron was out, Isengard Underlings = 4 wounds per event, and then with Goblin Hordes coming out, it was really easy to toss out 8-12 wounds on [7] - [9] every site.

And if anything packed a Pallando (a lot of decks splashed Pallando at the time, if they didn't have other condition removal), or, as aforementioned, ran the Horn deck, Ring-Bound hobbits, Daddy Twofoot / No Visitors, Barliman Butterbur / Meneldor decks, etc, they just died, severely. Splash decks = 6 wounds an event, RB hobbits = minimum 8 wounds, sometimes 10-12 per event, Meneldor decks typically = 12 wounds an event.

When I ran the deck, I ran it with, like, Orkish Scouts and Black Gate Sentry. It's been modified now (post-erratum and Orkish Smith banning), and is still running on the Lackey engine, and is powerful, but Frenzy Of Arrows just made the deck obscene. I don't think I ever failed to pull off a kill by site 5-6. Often they lost 3 or so comps at site 4.

lol ok didnt noticed the errata. but wtf with no archer in this game :-(

But the lackey bomb is broken too. Saruman, Goblin Hordes, Lackey and Gothmog are still in the game. And i think its good enough to kill most decks.
Is there a shadow which hurts more?

I play it like this:

4 Goblin Hordes
3 Unforgiving Depths
2 Dread and Despair
2 Pavise
1 Countless Companies
4 Mumak Commander, GATS
4 Orkish Lackey
3 Orkish Scout
2 Black Land Overlord
2 Black Land Chieftain
1 Orkish Invader
2 Saruman, SoS
2 Ulaire Lemenya, Eternally Threatening

Maybe adding some Gothmog, ML but he is an normal Orc Wounding Deck with some Wargs :-)

See, the Lackey deck was why the Orkish Smith got banned. Theory being, if the Freeps can chuck your conditions, and you can't bring them back, then Lackey is dead. Specifically, if your Goblin Hordes get tossed, then you also can't bring Lackey back.

Lackey's a very condition intensive deck and packs almost no punch if the conditions are gone.

Try Mouth of Sauron to set up your Countless Companies.

I use a small nazzy package in the form of Lemenya, Eternally Threatening, Nelya, Third of the Nine Riders and sometimes a random Enquea, Duplicitous Lieutenant with Buckland Homesteads to avoid Namarie and Stewards Legacy or other annoying conditions. I use them in the place of the GATS package, because Farmair, Captain of Ithilien + Stewards Legacy rules in our playgroup (add an IB, an Elven Guardian and Madril to the mix to make it even better).
