I'm just bitching. I traded with Radu Pitis before many, many years ago. Apparently he's forgotten about that though.
Does anyone have any success stories with him? I figure Colin or Steve might've dealt with him on occasion, right?

I traded with him once, we used each other as references on mahasamatman, had a disagreement, and I requested the site owner to delete me as one of his references and him as one of mine. Sam was quite surprised, I think he said it was the first time he'd ever gotten that request.
I will NEVER trade with or buy from him again in the future. As a side note, I was completely unaware that masterlotr was him - some things now make sense.

Will:
I've purchased from Radu and traded with him too many times to count. Personally, I've never had any problems with him, but that's just me. $4 seems like a generous offer for a RotK site foil. Strange he wouldn't take you up on that.
-
I'll check my foils and (unlikely as it is that I'll have that particular foil) if I've got it I'll just mail it to you, as long as you send Radu some sort of message indicating that he lost out on $4.
Yes, I am that petty. Sometimes.

Haha...thanks guys.
I thought it was a generous offer for an uncommon site foil as well. He had it listed at $10+shipping...that just isn't going to fly. :gp: for both of you for the responses though; I definitely knew you two would have dealt with him at least once before.

I've also done a few deals with Radu, both with Lotr and L5r (purchasing, trading, and selling). Never had an issue.
-
I've dealt with Radu successfully many times, too. He was very accommodating especially on the high-value promos back then (a year ago...), but there you are. I've been out of the market for many months now and would not know how everything has turned out.
Sorry to hear that things turned sour for many here with him. Then again, geekgee used to be flexible in her early ebay days, too...

good god, geekgee is a chick?! my assumptions about ebay sellers are all upside down!

You know that aneythang is a chick too, right? That said, we've [myself, silver.telperion, rubbercarp, and veBu] already discussed why I won't purchase from her (http://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/index.php/topic,334.msg62869.html#msg62869).
Good thing rubbercarp has his site because there just aren't any great LotR TCG sellers on the internet I guess*.

* You know, besides the folks in the forums.

Umm, let me see. If someone politely refuses to sell a card to you for lower price than they ask, you're going to name and shame them on forums?
Nice!

There's a huge gap between politeness and passive-aggressive snarkiness. Also, citing a conversation about price years ago as the basis for refusing a deal (which others seem to agree was generous-fair) is laughable when prices fluctuate on a monthly basis.

Well, that is women's suffrage for you ;) I am at a loss regarding the online LotR TCG sellers. geekgee, masterlotr and aneything were perfectly alright when I bought from them. Then again, with the prices going all over the place, they may be struggling to maintain a clear perspective. When I look at geekgee wanting almost $1000 for RoS MWs, I am very happy to have finished my collection when the going was already getting pretty tough, but not this tough (or rather: insane).
Then again, all this is no excuse for being rude to prospective customers.
And rubbercarp has an excellent shop going. Pretty much 'the last homely house' for online shops, isn't it?
-
I didn't know geekgee was a female either... funny that I always assume she was a he...
I've had good interactions will all of the above eBay sellers, but since we're complaining (that's what the internet is for right) the thing that REALLY bothers me for some reason is that geekgee always includes a little religious handout with their shipments. For some reason that has always rubbed me the wrong way when sellers do that.

agreed!!!

I experienced that, too. However, after a couple of bemused glances I threw those "additions" away (All I need is the Summa Theologiae by Thomas Aquinas in Latin and the Bible in Ancient Greek, anyway). ;)

For what I know Aneythang is actually a very old lady, as we chatted through e-mail, I was doing a purchase near xmas eve and she commented on her preparations. I kinda like her, I bought 8 simbelmynes off her for $2 each and ithil stones very cheap too, can't remember exactly.
I traded at least 5 times with Radu, never had a problem.
