Title: SWEET PULLS!
Post by: SomeRandomDude on September 09, 2008, 08:46:13 PM
Okay, so I bought 4 Eventide Boosters between today and yesterday. And the rares payed for themselves about 4-fold or something like that.

Price of Booster: $3.97

Booster Pack 1: Hallowed Burial- Scribe Value: $8 (actually got this one at the card store as opposed to Wal-Mart, so I priced it according to the Scribe).
Booster Pack 2: Flooded Grove- MtGFanatic Price: $9.99
Booster Pack 3: Talara's Battalion- MtGFanatic Price: $12.49
Booster Pack 4: Fiery Bombardment (dud rare)- MtG Fanatic Price: $0.59

Total Investment: About $16
Total Value of Rares: $31

ROI: 400%

You can't buy stocks going that well. I may just set up a card store...

I can't see why Talara's Batallion goes for so high, it still wasn't broke by any crazy japanese. I see the potential, and I'd try to use it in a deck, if I had 3 copies of it, but other than that, I see no point.

4/3 trample beater for 1G? That's pretty big.

Yeah, but you either have to cram an aggro deck with crappy Elves in order to play one on turn 1 and another one on turn 2, or play Manamorphose (which is what I'd go for anyway), to make it worthwhile. I'm actually looking forward to my Extended Zoo once Shards of Alara hits the shelves, I'm gonna nab me some pretty BIG beaters! 3/3 for G? Count me in!

I was quite happy when the first rare I pulled out of my first Lorwyn booster was Scion of Oona.
