Title: Reflections Box
Post by: Air Power on December 16, 2011, 06:56:30 PM
Well, I celebrated finishing finals by opening my box of reflections.  I'm not going to list what every card was, but the attached spreadsheet lists the pack breakdown by set and rarity.  I'll come back later with a list of the rares.

I loved opening Reflections packs when they came out.
But was always sad by high numbers of Mines and Ents rares that they seemed to be full of.

Fun set though!

Would you be willing to trade that House of Elrond ("Casa de Elrond") foil?

Do people even sell boxes of LOTR now though? They are so exorbitantly priced when one does find them. Sad. :(

I buy them online.  Reflections are commonly listed in the $65-$80, but I buy them when I find them for $40-$50.  Others: 36 RotK boosters (not in the box) and Shadows booster box each for $23.

Generally ebay and online stores are cheapest.  Amazon tends to be more expensive.

What is expensive? Back in the days, when I didn't know about online buying I bought boosters for €4,- per pack. That makes 154 euro's per box, 175usd...and sadly I bought a lot that way, haha. Wholesalegaming had provided me with a lot since though.

Sealed product will increase in value simply because it is getting scarcer and scarcer. I got into the game after it officially folded and was able to scrounce most of my collection through buying up lots on ebay. And that is also getting harder to do.

Look at the situation of decipher's star trek ccg's and you will see what will happen to the LotR market soon, if The Hobbit does not rekindle new interest in the game that makes people see a point in listing their old collections on ebay.
