Title: LOTR: The Third Age
Post by: bibfortuna25 on January 31, 2012, 10:45:50 PM
Hey, remember this game? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/95/Thirdagebox.jpg (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/95/Thirdagebox.jpg) I thought I'd come up with some dream cards based on the 6 playable characters in the game:

[4] •Berethor, Captain of the Citadel Guard [Gondor]

Companion - Man

STR 8
VIT 4
RES 6

Knight.
While skirmishing a Nazgul, Berethor is strength +1.
Skirmish: Exert Berethor and discard a fortification to discard a Shadow condition he bears (or two [Wraith] conditions if you can spot The Witch-king).

[2] •Idrial, Servant of Galadriel [Elven]

Companion - Elf

STR 6
VIT 3
RES 7

Each minion skirmishing Idrial is strength -1 for each card she bears.
Skirmish: Add [2] and transfer a Shadow condition borne by another companion to Idrial to remove a burden.

[3] •Elegost, Ranger of the North [Gondor]

Companion - Man

STR 7
VIT 3
RES 7

Ranger.
While you can spot a Dwarf, Elegost's twilight cost is -1.
At the start of the archery phase, you may discard a card from hand to exert a minion (or two Orcs).

[2] •Hadhod, Master of Stone [Dwarven]

Companion - Dwarf

STR 6
VIT 4
RES 6

While at an underground or mountain site, Hadhod is damage +1.
Each time Hadhod wins a skirmish and the minion he was skirmishing is killed, you may play the fellowship's next site.
Skirmish: Exert Hadhod to wound an Orc he is skirmishing.

[2] •Morwen, Rohirrim Warrior [Rohan]

Companion - Man

STR 6
VIT 3
RES 6

Morwen may bear two hand weapons.
While skirmishing a Man, Morwen is strength +1 and damage +1.
While at a plains or dwelling site, Morwen is strength +1 and damage +1.

[3] •Eaoden, Spear-master [Rohan]

Companion - Man

STR 7
VIT 3
RES 6

While Eaoden is in your starting fellowship, his twilight cost is -1.
For each card with "spear" in title (or sub-title) you can spot, Eaoden is strength +1.

Nice overall, however Elegost is underpowered.

Changed Elegost and Berethor around a little bit to better fit their character from the game.

Yeah, grinding your skills can be really tedious. The game is still a lot of fun, but it loses momentum quickly once you get to the Pelennor Fields.
