Hello, I'm new here and I recently got into the game (which is a bit after the fact but I play with my roommates and I enjoy collecting cards) and I'm looking for good places to buy cards. I'm not exactly sure what the forum rules are on linking to websites and such so I hope I'm okay with this. Is ebay the best option or is their an online retailer that is a good go to?
Thanks

ebay is some overpriced garbage place to buy cards nowadays and I would totally NOT buy cards there except bidding on auctions for sets 15+ cards and only auctions. People think they can even sell normal Reflections R cards for 4$ a piece for example. I just buy cards from a german shop and some friends I know private.
Try this:

Its even more overprized as ebay but nowadays you cant get cards on low price anymore, sadly.
The shop has still tho almost every card to sell, even the super rare Warg cards from RoS and the other good stuff you dont find much.

www.ccg-singles.com is my website. (and I offer free shipping to TLHH members who enter the coupon code "TLHHFreeShipping" during the final stage of checkout)
My goal is not to have the best price on the internet, my goal is to always have the card that you want IN STOCK and available to purchase. That means that I have to keep my price for the more sought after cards pretty high (and even then I still sell out of some of them)
I also offer commons and uncommons which most other places do not. But again, the price for those is probably higher than most people want to pay, and I certainly understand that. But for me, it's not worth the time it takes to sort, list, find, pack and ship a Common or Uncommon card if I only sell them for like $0.05 a piece.
Welcome to the boards Pomegrant!

^ I have to say that your 15,17,18 masterwork card prices are epic, just all sold out lol :(

Those prices would be adjusted if I ever had any in stock.
For now, those prices are just place holders =)

You can buy unopened boxes & boosters here:

Thanks for the help. I'm looking mainly for boxes to expand my collection. I get a lot out of just opening packs too.
What are some "must have" sets to expand my collection?

In my opinion, sets 1 and 4 get you a long way in terms of being able to build a variety of decks. For movie block, reflections helps a lot. I got out after TT block, and since coming back, I got a lot of bang for my buck with a box of black rider because the cards were new/different and the box was ~$20 with shipping. I got a RotK lot of packs at a similar price but found the cards underwhelming as a whole. I also had fun with reflections, but it's decidedly more expensive.

I had some bonds mature so I put some money into getting more cards.
One more question, when I played Magic on their forums there was a really detailed user created guide to all types of deck types that existed over the years. Is there something similar to that in this community or somewhere else?

Not really. You can go through the deck help pages and get an idea of what people play, and some of the champion decks from back in the day are still on random websites, but there's nothing comprehensive.
