Title: Peter Jackson cards
Post by: OneFathom on May 17, 2012, 01:41:25 PM
How many cards feature the director of TLOTR, Peter Jackson?

I know of Albert Dreary and Rohirrim Warrior.  Are there any others?

You've also got Castamir of Umbar and Corsair Vandal.

Makeup, my man. They can make an 18 year old look 70. Or Lawrence Makoare (sp) into Lurtz, Gothmog AND the Witch King.

Lawrence also played Arwen for some of the wide shots.

I thought he was an understudy for Miranda Otto's forehead?

I'd also like to point out the other crew member cameos:

Hrethel, Rider of Rohan - Barrie Osborne, producer for the trilogy;
Veteran Horseman - Howard Shore, composer and conductor for all the music in the trilogy (and upcoming prequels);
These Are My People - Dan Hennah, art director, who you don't actually see on this card but he (and Alan Lee) turn up as extras in the background during this scene;
Black Numenorean - Andrew Lesnie, director of photography;
Corsair Buccaneer and Corsair Ruffian - Gino Acevedo, prosthetics supervisor. Check out the lore on the !Ruffian;
Corsair Gunners - Richard Taylor and Gino Acevedo;
Corsair Marauder - Richard Taylor (WETA head honcho);

John Howe and Alan Lee show up in the prologue, as two of the Nine Kings of Men who receive Rings. No card for them, but they're both on opposite ends of the lineup, each second from the farthest out - CORRECTION: Alan Lee is totally the guy on Ring of Asperity;
Daniel Falconer (Weta designer, notable for drawing Treebeard) had a cameo at the beginning of the Battle of Helm's Deep, but lost it because Viggo got in the way;
Christian Rivers (story boarder) and Rick Porras (producer) are the two Gondorian knights hanging out at the beacon Pippin lights in Return of the King;

Given how many I know more-or-less off the top of my head, there are probably a bunch of others. Also, most of the kids you see on screen are children of crew members, and PJ's kids get close ups in each film.

Wow. Total nerd. But also, totally awesome.

Someone clearly watched all of the special features on the extended DVDs/Blu-Ray [yeah, I definitely haven't].
