It might be a little early, but seeing as how we struggled last year to get the roster going, I thought we should get an early start anyway.
So, anyone up for a TLHH league? I tried my hand at this for the first time last year, and it was awesome, I just wish I was a little better at it at first, and that we got better coverage here so I could track things more closely, but it was still a blast, and it's all fun and games after all, so I'm definitely up for it again.
-
I am up for it as well. And I will be league manager again if all agree to it. And I will have it so we can use 2 tight ends at one time. So whoever wants to play please say so. And this will be ESPN format I think.
-
if i was joining, which i can't say i am, i would definitely go for ket's idea. rather than forcing players to find 2 decent tight ends, allow that third spot to be not just RB/WR but RB/WR/TE
-
Well it is what ket was saying. But a tight end is an option is what I ment to say. My bad on clarrity. We could try Yahoo I've just never done it on there before is all. So I would need to mess around wth it if I am going to be LM.
-
Well, I'd be up for trying yahoo, though I'd have to learn the system all over again. And of course, we need more players.
-
True. I would like at least 8 people. Under that wouldn't be to much fun.
-
We seem to have 4 right here. Could you dig up the e-mails from the last league to summon the players?
-
Sounds good ket. @ FM: I will try that and see who is interested.
-
So is this going to be a thing?
-
I am in. And if ket wants to do it on Yahoo is in. Messaged some people today about it.
-
I will get you email address'. But I don't do money leagues.
-
count me out guys, i have transferred to a new university, and i'm taking 16.5 credits of mechanical engineering classes this fall. its too easy for me to waste my time on fantacy football when i ought to be studying ;-)
thanks for the invite, keep us updated on here so we can see who's winning. good luck guys!
-
When is the Draft scheduled? And in what GMT time, so I can prepare?
-
Can we get rid of the can't cut list?
-
Yeah a pull would be nice I think.
-
Ok, can't join. Yahoo requests an yahoo e-mail; haven't got one. It requires you to log in using facebook or google then; don't have a facebook account, nor is it accepting my hotmail e-mail in lieu of a google one, although orkut has no qualms about this, so haven't got one as well. Tried to login using my wife's yahoo e-mail; site crashes.
Any ideas about that last one? (the previous ones were more for your amusement)
-
Yes, that is what first crossed my mind, though my OCD is kinda blocking me from creating an unnecessary e-mail, which is why I want to first try and fix my wife's. Any possibility it might be crashing due to being yahoo.com.br?
-
if its not to late, I'll join again. I have been stupid busy lately but things seems to be settling down for the time.
-
I joined. Unless the draft date is set in stone I have to work that night and its exactly at the time I have to leave the house to go in. I don't care to auto-draft if I have to, but if it isn't set in stone and I could be around for the draft that would be better.
NK
-
I can do it earlier that day as I'll be off the night before. Even if its just an hour earlier that can at least give me time for the important rounds if it gets drug out. I'd be off the friday-sunday before that day or the wednesday and thursday after. If its easier for everyone else to do it that night/day no worries I have no problems setting up an auto draft roster and seeing where it gets me when I get home the following morning.
NK
-
Earlier works for me. No problem with me if we switch it.
-
Earlier is fine
-
I can do earlier.
-
Seems that's the gist of it. Well, it was fun last year, too bad it's not gonna happen this time. Maybe I can try to whip out an all-brazillian fantasy league... Wonder if I'd be able to get more than 5 people...
-
Well, at least we tried. Sad is, I've been e-mailing some friends, and I might be able to get 8 players who have never watched a Football game before, and we couldn't get a sixth in a site populated with americans. :(
-
Ok, so me and some friends that wanted to try Fantasy out actually whipped out an all-brazillian, all-newbs league. At 6 players, it's quite small, but considering the time we had to assemble it (3 days), I think it was a success. People already started browsing through the site, customizing squads and even thinking about trades, and we'll probably watch the season start together.
Since most people do not know the game too well, we decided to go with as much customization as possible, to allow everyone to play to their strengths, so we only have one mandatory for each position, and 3 customizables (RB/WR, WR/TE, RB/WR/TE).
Our draft just happened, and I was taken aback with the quality picks I saw from the guys, they really put an effort into it (thought there were some wild gambles, like pick 1 Tom Brady, pick 2 Eli Manning by the same player; or pick 1 Andrew Luck by another).
We also have a slightly bigger roster to allow people to have "back-ups" for virtually every position so they do not have to use waivers a lot, and we get more mileage out of the draft.
So far, I ended up with:
Drew Brees;
LeSean McCoy;
Jimmy Graham;
Frank Gore;
Jordy Nelson;
Greg Jennings;
Hakeem Nicks;
The New Orleans kicker (forgot his name);
the 49ers D/ST.
I'm working on getting Maurice Jones-Drew in a trade involving Vernon Davis from my bench, and as notables, I have Matt Ryan in the bench and also Aaron Hernandez.
I didn't like the All-NO setup, so I'm trying to work out a trade with Drew Brees for Tom Brady (the guy made the same mistake, drafting both Brady and Gronkowski, which is not that great when NE does badly), and I might try to squeeze out Reggie Bush from this trade to the bench, probably by sending Jennins, Nicks or DeSean Jackson his way, though I'm not sure it's even needed - and will, of course, depend on me getting Jones-Drew into the starting line-up).
Our first-picker manage to ger Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch and Calvin Jonhson all into the same team, which means he'll put up quite a show.
Another player got Arion Foster, Michael Vick/Tony Romo and Jamal Charles.
Here's hoping this will be fun, so we might repeat each year getting more brazilians to join and more people watching the NFL here.
-
Your wr for(including Graham) looks solid. Nice grab with Brees and McCoy. Good choice at D too. I would suggest more rbs. Even if there backups like c.j spiller or Michael Bush. And have fun.
-
Ok, so it's on! SO far, no trades worked out greatly, as everyone is too afraid to screw up trading a great player, so the guys are on a "wait and see" style, though I did raid the waivers. I got a better WR than DeSean Jackson (forgot who, though), and also managed to get the Jets Defense, to rotate depending on matchups. It's kinda wierd that, right now, I have 3 Defenses, but I think 49ers and Jets is a solid rotation option, since we have a larger bench, and I think I might end up involving the Steelers' Defense in that trade for Jones-Drew, since his owner chose poorly and got the NE Defense, so aside from having no tight ends, his defense is a swiss cheese, so I might be able to get Jones-Drew for Vernon Davis + Steelers (and maybe take some bad player out of his bench for a better bench option, though I'm not sure I even WOULD want Drew this bad), which still leaves me with Hernandez as a backup TE, a fine choice.
This week I actually rotated my defense, taking out the 49ers, because I'm facing the n. 1-seeded player (meaning I'm up against the likes of Lych, A-Rod and Megatron), so I'm trying to squeeze out the most points, and I thought the Jets match-up was easier on my defense (also, since he has A-rod, it'd basically hinge on direct confrontation, as if GB does well, then my defense is screwed).
As insurance, I left Jennings/Nelson in the starting lineup, so if A-Rod does badly, I might lose some points, but he loses more than I do, assuming Brees comes through (he benched Ahmad Bradshaw, fortunately, because if he had Demarco Murray AND Bradshaw in the starting lineup, things could have gone badly for me).
I like my subbing out Dan Bailey for the NO kicker, as he only scored 5 yesterday, and I also chose to remove Hakeem Nicks, since he oscilated between Questionable and Probable, and with it being a conference battle, I though Nicks might not do so well due to not being chosen as a target that much, so I put in Aaron Hernandez in his place, since NE is facing a weaker Defense anyway (so far, I was happy with my choices, Nicks was definitely subpar yesterday, as was Bailey - IMO).
-
I have the Bills D in one of my league since there playing the Jets horrific offense. The Niners D is totally solid. And I am not sold on the Jets but they could do good things maybe. Nelson and Gennings are good options to have being Rodgers 2 favorite targets. And good luck this week.
-
So, WHO are the Jets starting out at QB anyway? I kinda thought Sanchez was history, due to, well, being terrible, and what with Tebow having a promising career ahead of him. I don't know, maybe the Jets are trying to push Sanchez into playing better by hagin a great bench option lurking in the shadows, so that they might get a better trade for Sanchez once the time comes, but I'm not sure I'd risk benching a rising promise like Tebow just to try and squeeze out a bit more in a Sanchez trade, especially since it's not going to be THAT much more anyway.
I thought the Jets defense was a good choice, facing the Bills offense, so I just hope I didn't make too great of a mistake.
-
Sanchez is the starter but I don't think it will matter because there O-Line and wr core aren't that great at all. And I don't trust Shone Green running. I think there D is legit and that may be the only thing keeping them alive in games. And Revis is a beast. So not a bad option against the Bills. Unless Fred Jackson breaks out with a monster game which is possible.
-
I have c.j spiller on my bench in 2 of my leagues. He is a good player to have I think. I also think Maclin will have good year(better then Desean Jackson). And Mat Ryan will be a beast this year.
-
Here is my team in my league that I set up. It is an individual defense league so I have defensive players not just a team defense.
Offense:
QB - Drew Brees
RB(s) - LeSean McCoy and Micheal Turner
WR(s) - Mike Wallace and Miles Autin
TE - Rob Gronkowski
K - Dan Carpenter
Defense:
DT - Justin Smith
DE - Jason Pierre-Paul
LB(s) - Patrick Willis and Demarcus Ware
CB - Charles Woodson
S - George Wilson
Bench:
RG3
Jonathan Stewart
Steve Johnson
Doug Martin
Jermaine Gresham
Curtis Lofton
Cortland Finnegan
Roman Harper
Matt Flynn (guess I better drop him seeing as Russel Wilson got the start)
Dwight Freeney
Randy Moss
Von Miller
I believe I got a pretty solid team anyway, should be another fun season none the less.
NK
-
This is one of my teams in 12 team and I picked at 8.
QB- Jay Cutler
RB- Matt Forte/Donald Brown
WR- Julio Jones/Jordy Nelson
TE- Jimmy Graham
Flex-Jeremy Maclin
D/ST- Bengals
K- Davis Akers
Bench.
Antonio Brown.
Ryan Williams
David Wilson
Sam Bradford
Kendall Wright.
Randall Cobb
Kendall Hunter.
Individual defense sounds interesting. How does scoring work with that? I would keep Flynn because you never know unless there is someone better in FA.
-
well I have individual defense scoring like this:
sack = 2pts
every 5 tackles = 5 points (if you get 9 tackles still just 5 points, didn't want tackles to make or break the scoring)
interception = 2 pts
forced fumble = 1 pt
fumble recovery = 2pts
TD = 6pts
I actually like the individual defense a lot more than team defense, makes it more interesting at draft time and game time.
I was deciding i might keep Flynn I will see just how good Russell will be in the first few weeks before I drop him if that is what I do.
NK
-
Sounds like fun. Well I like you Willis pick because of his tackles he gets and sometimes a turnover. And I actually like all of your defense. You got some great pass rushers.
-
Well my Rams sadly lost. So close. But 2 of my fantasy teams won and 1 lost. The Niners are beasts and the Lions are gonna get a beatdown next week. Drew Brees is inaccurate as #$&*@!. RGIII had the only good game of any rookie qb. He was amazing. Michael Vick really just sucks. But lucky for him Brandon Weeden sucks worse. And he had no one to throw to. I thought Carolina would win but that didn't happen. And Manning won in his Broncos debut and it was a very good game. And these replacement refs just sucked in the Packers and Niners game. Horrible calls on both teams. But hey life goes on. But I am really pumped!
-
I really liked watching Manning play, I think he might do really well with the Broncos, what with having a running game and all that.
WHT happened with Kasay and why isn't he in NO anymore? I almost went in without a kicker, but thankfully Fantasy let me replace him. Of course, I had to replace him with someone NOT playing, so right now I'm 14 points behind and have just Justin Tucker left to win the game for me. Yeah, that's gonna happen.
Anyway, I think I'll finally get Jones-Drew tomorrow, and while I don't think he's great in any way, he's a solid help because I'm not liking Nicks right now.
-
So glad I had C.J Spiller and Cam Newton on one team. What a great day yesterday. Well I won in one league and lost in one and the other two are to be determined tonight.
-
My Rams won so I am really happy. The Niners game was awesome. Really surprised the Patriots lost. The Jets got man handled though. Carson Palmer just seems really inacurrate. And Drew Brees is making some bad throws but he isn't getting help from his defense and some receivers dropping wide open catches. And the 4th quarter of the Giants and Buccaneers game was epic. And Victor Cruz is still a monster. And I decided the Bengals defense isn't that great. And Andrew Luck got his first win as did Tannehill and Russel Wilson. And the Eagle Raven game was so good.
-
Yes, all the games we got here were friggin' awesome. Too bad I lost Hernandez early on, specially since I had decided to put him in over Hakeem Nicks (was not convinced yet). Yeah... that hurt. I'm still up by 39, but my friend still has 2 players to start, one of which is Peyton Manning, so... yeah. It'll be close, if I win it.
-
Well good luck with your team FM. Yeah losing a player really sucks(I lost Forte on 2 teams). Oh well at least I had Michael Bush on one of them
-
I actually got Michael Bush from the Waivers, let's see if it pays out. If it does, I'm involving him in a trade as a bargaining chip, I think I might need another WR, not to mention I might need a backup tight end now that I sent Vernon Davis somewhere else.
-
C.J is a beast. And a averaging 10 yards a carry for the moment. He is a life saver when Fred Jackson went down in one of my leagues.
-
I think Dennis Pitta, if he's not taken, might be a good bet, he's getting more screen time at each game. I'll be sure on Sunday. Too bad he's already taken in my League, so in needing a replacement for Hernandez, my best bet right now is Pettigrew, who has been... underwhelming. Thank goodness it's for a BACKUP tight end for week 6 only, so hopefully Hernandez's injury won't be too severe and he'll be back in time. A hurt Hernandez, right now, is still better than Pettigrew...
-
Well I won in 2 leagues and lost in 2 today. It was reallt weird today though. The Saints lost to the Chiefs. The 49ers lost to the Vikings somehow. The Steelers lost to the Raiders. I really don't know anymore. Hahah. The Cardinals seem legit though. Well my Rams lost which sucks. The Texans are awesome. Good game. And alot star players were injured today. C.J Spiller, Revise, Reggie Bush, Patrick Willis, Shaub lost part of his ear. Jamall Charles was a beast and so was MJD. And McFadden seems back to life at the moment. Chris Johnson really sucks. And that Lions Titans game was unbelievable. Wow. And the Jets will be in serious trouble without Rev's against SF if he's out with injury. And Flacco was awesome tonight. And I am glad Torrey Smith destroyed the Pats becasu his brother died in a motorcycle accidant. And those are my random NFL thoughts after today.
-
I'm a Patriots fan, but I actually thought it was an awesome game, serendipity at its best. Also, I have Justin Tucker in my fantasy roster, so... ;) It was nice to see the guy perform under pressure, and specially do what Cundiff couldn't, nail the game.
And yes, the Lion's game was unbelieveable, I was, like, "ok, so that's the game, 14 down, 1:43 to go, I'm going to go get bread for the coffee". Then I come back, and it's a tie in overtime and I'm like: "what the #$&*@!?". So cool.
-
Funny thing was that it was Shaun Hill who led the comeback not Stafford. Seahawks winning was a surprise. I thought they could do it but I didn't know if they could. I think the NFC West might be one of the best divisions. If not the best overall.
-
The real referees are back. About time. And it was an 8 year deal so we won't have to worry about this for a long time.
-
Today was awesome because the Rams won!!!!! But the 49ers thrashed the Jets. Watching the 49ers defense play is like totally awesome. Love how they work. The Falcons, Texans and Cardinals are all 4-0. But I think the Rams will give the Cardinals a big challenge on Thursday. Denver dominated. The Jaguars still suck on offense. The Redskins finally made a field after missing 3 earlier. Hahah. The Saints are 0-4. Yikes! Wonder if there's hope for them. And the Vikings are leading the North. And of course the Eagles won less then an hour ago. Because some people can't kick. But it was 53 yards so hey there's that I guess. What a great day of games. Even though some teams were destroyed. Like the Bills losing 52-28 to the Pats.
-
The Rams are 3-2! I am so happy. Their defense is spactaculer. 9 sacks on Kolb and only allowing 3 points and under 300 yards of offense. And they are over .500 for the first time since 2006. About time.
-
I like their running game, but Bradford still does not make me confident when he throws the ball. Then again, neither does Phillip Rivers, and the bastard (Game of Thrones pun intended) almost killed the Saints yesterday.
-
Yeah and with Amendola out for the Rams for 6 weeks which is gonna hurt them alot. The 49ers are scary. They are the first team to ever have 300 yards running and passing in the same game. And there defense is still tremendous. The Denver, New England game was good. But 3 fumbles killed the Broncos.
-
I won what might have been the ugliest Fantasy game of our League. We play a high-point league (since it's their first time, I went with larger customization and more points awarded, so the guys get a good feeling from choosing their roster), and the match was, like, 85-80, which was bizarre. Still, a win is a win (having 5 of my starters hurt is not helping, though), but I'm getting desperate for finding WRs I can start, and I need a replacement for Graham this week, and so far the "best" available are Pettigrew and Fred Davis, none of which I'm crazy about. To make things worst, I'm facing against the best team in our league (not record-wise, that would be me, but in all fairness, I won my share of miracle games already, so I'm not going to get another freebie), and while he DOES lose Matt Forte, he can choose between C.J. Spiler or Reggie Bush as a replacement, and I lose both Graham and Brees and I have a questionable RGIII and NO tight end to replace them with.
-
Yeah having the Saints on a bye week hurts two of my teams. I won in 3 leagues and lost in 2. So pretty good and two of my teams are 4-1 so far.
-
I won in three leagues. Lost in another and have a chance to win in one. My Rams lost which was disappointing. And alot of things seemed weird yesterday. The Browns won their first game. Not weird but they dominated the Bengals in the 4th quarter. Stafford was 10/26 for around 100 yards. And then he explodes and throws for over 300 yards in the game and they best the Eagles in OT. The 49ers got man handled. And it seems that Seattle is legit or the Patriots just like losing to NFC West teams. Hahah. The Bills defense looked good. But they were playing the Cardinals so who knows. And RGIII ran a 76 yard touchdown. And Aaron Rodgers looks like last years Aaron Rodgers and it was against a good defense. And Jordy Nelson saved one of my teams with his amazing game. Just my random thoughts of yesterday.
-
Yeah, this year's league is weird. I lost, unsurprisingly, and my team looks like a freaking Santa's naughty-boy list, with all the red spots near the names, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I have some fat to burn, but I need some guys to improve, SERIOUSLY, or I'm toast.
The league got really entangled for such a small league, though, which is nice. Awesome Packers game yesterday, so fun to watch. And I can't believe my Patriots lost yet again, what the #$&*@! is wrong with them this year?
-
I don't know. Its like there explosivness is gone. There D seems improved but it doesn't seem to matter right now. They seem inconsistent from week to week. But playing at Seattle is tough and it was Brady's first game there in his career. So that plays a factor into it as well I think.
-
I'm starting to wonder if Aaron Hernandez might be more important to that lineup than the statistics would have us believe.
-
He gets other guys open I think. So you can't cover him and Gronk at the same time. Also with Welker and Lloyd. And do you know about Lloyd's injury? Haven't heard anything about it at all. But without him makes it easier to cover other guys. And how about Denver last night. Wow. Awesome comeback.
-
My team is on a roll. gonna be 7-0-1 after tonight. Leading this week 147-96 and opponent has no players tonight and I have 2 more. Got pay back this week for the only non-win on my record. Only 1 week this season that I havent broke 100 total fantasy points and still got 96 points that week. Anyone else having a great year in their fantasy league?
NK
-
I am gonna be 7-1 in one league. So pretty good there. My others one are pretty iffy though. And nice win NK. Well the Rams losing 3 straight really sucks. Glad they get a bye week. Green Bay looked pretty off yesterday. But they still won because of defense. I expected the Broncos offense to score 30-42 poi ts last night. But there defense was amazing allowing just 14 points. And that Giant-Cowboy game was awesome to watch. And the Bears came back to win it. And having Cam Newton on my fantasy team really sucks. But I used Hasslebeck instead and he got me 14 points compared to Cam's 11.
-
Im so glad i drafted Doug Martin. Ive been starting him over Michael Turner and it is paying off big time big the past 2 weeks. should have no problem going 8-0-1 this week. I currently lead 124-102 and still have 4 players playing tonight. I still have Drew Brees, Shady McCoy, Curtis Lofton, and Roman Harper to play tonight. Im projected to hit 172 points this week. Doug Martin had 61 points for me this week alone. I get bonus points for scoring plays over 40 yards and 50 yards and Doug Martin had 3 of those against Oakland.
I just have a feeling I'm gonna go regular season without a loss, get a bye for first week of the playoffs and end up losing in my first playoff game. I drafted an amazing team this year. I didnt have to start Von Miller at all this season until last night when San Fran had a bye and I used him to replace Patrick Willis and he played huge for me, 3 sacks and 5 tackles. Just good timing and I did my research this year before drafting and it is all paying off.
NK
-
I'm also bound to hit 7-1. I'm still behind by 7, but my opponent has Celek left to play, and I have Brees, Graham and LeSean McCoy, so I'm feeling confident.
-
I hit 7-2 as not having Brady killed me big time.
-
I like the fact that the league is so entangled this year, as though I'm not a Saints fan, I do like the team a lot, and respect Brees and Graham, so I'd really like to see they bounce back in a Cinderella story (and maybe make it to the Super Dome-Bowl), and as is, it is still a possibility, though having the Falcons away next sure dampens my hopes a bit.
-
I really hate the Saints. I really don't know why but I don't like them. But I also hate the Patriots and the Seahawks. The Steeler-Giant game was awesome. The Steelers defense played amazingly well. And the Bears defense is incredable. But I still like the 49ers D the best. And go Rams! Hahahah.
-
What would be awesome is if the Colts made the playoffs. That would be incredible. Andrew Luck is amazing. I know alot of people like RGIII better but Luck is better in my opinion.
-
Well I am now 8-3 in one league. And I tied in one and lost the other two. The Rams now are losing like usuall and its frustrating. A few key players got injured for teams(Gronkowski, Mccoy, and McGahee). The Broncos are fun to watch now. And the Patriots had a scoring frenzy yesterday. And the Raiders still suck. The Steelers were so close to winning. Was going for tem but without Big Ben they are toast. Went out to watch the BearBus49ers game. Kaepernick was amazing. And the Niners defense is so much fun to watc. The Bears areby a half game. awful without Cutler though. And The Packers regained lead of the division by a half game.
-
Yeah, I'm not sure if the 49ers D/ST and Frank Gore managed to get me another miracle win (I was really behind, and the opponent had Brandon Marshal yet to play, and he scored a TD, so yeah...), but if they did, I'd be 10-1. However, I'm already qualified to the playoffs, and seeded nº 1 anyway, so it's more for show than anything. I'm interested in checking out the results from the West division, though, it's all entangled, lots of direct confrontations and things still up in the air (and I might even be able to influence their results, depending on how this round went).
-
Got handed my first loss this week. Even worse is I have Gronk and McCoy and both got injuried. I know Gronk is gonna be out for several weeks, but maybe McCoy can bounce back only missing 1 week. Had I started RGIII over Brees or even replaced Curtis Lofton with Von Miller I would have won. Thats just how it goes I guess. Im still leading the league and 2nd place is 6-4-1 and Im sitting comfortable in frony 9-1-1. I've sealed my spot in the post season with a 1st round bye so now its all about looking like the dominate team in the league. I still have this sneaking feeling I'm gonna lose my first game in the post season and have too watch others play for the league title.
Anyway been a fantastic fantasy year so far just wish my Dolphins would get better, but with the 49ers playing good I can fall back on them as my 2nd favorite team.
NK
-
Well, it's not like McCoy had been producing much lately anyway, I mean, he's still putting points on the board, but he's so dominant it's weird when his points float around 10...
-
Being in a 12 team league rb's are slim. So even 10 point outings are good at times. He has dissapointed being my first pick though.
-
Ditto, firs-picked him, and Frank Gore, which I got REALLY late (it's a 6-player league, so sue me), is actually doing much, MUCH more.
On the other hand, I managed to trade for Maurice Jones-Drew in the first weeks (sent Vernon Davis, a good bench and the Steelers D/ST and got a crappy bench which I dropped), and boy, was THAT a bigger let down!
So, all things considered, I think I can't actually complain much about McCoy (I have some unnatural bad luck concerning running backs, they never seem to put points on my board. I do very well with TEs and Kickers, though).
-
I do good with qb's usually. I got Newton in one but he is up and down. But I am happy with Brady in one. And Happy Thanksgiving. I am gonna he watching football and eating. My two favorite things. :)
-
decided to start RGIII over Bress this week cause I think RGIII has a better chance against Dallas than Brees does Against San Fransico, hope that works out for me. Picked up Ronnie Hillman to fill in for McCoy since McGahee is out in Denver. Lets see if I can bounce back from my first defeat.
-
Well its working for you at the moment. Hahaah. Stupid Dallas.
-
I do not like the Patriots very much. But I love Tom Brady for getting me 30 fantasy points. That's what I am thankful for fantasy football wise. Haahahah.
-
Well, I'm a Pats fan, so I was thrilled. However, I'm bummed that Julian Edelman might be hurt yet again, the guy can't catch a break! And what's wrong with Sparano and Rex not starting Tebow? It's not like they're making it to the playoffs, might as well test out the new acquisition which cost so much. And I thought about doing the same with Brees and RGIII, but I'm not entirely sure Brees can't deliver, specially since the 49ers are kind of in a weird spot right now, with Harbaugh hinting he might start Kaepernick even with Alex Smith bouncing back from his concussion, and that can sometimes get to your players' heads. They do not have that big of an offensive line if you can keep Gore/Hunter in check (I don't think the Saints can, btw), and THOSE other offensive players (I'm looking at you, Crabtree) might ALSO start to worry that they're gonna lose their starting positions, which can lead to the Saints having more offensive opportunities should the 49ers stumble. And let's be honest, given enough opportunities (which is why keeping those clock-eaters Gore and Hunter in check is imperative), Brees IS going to deliver (not to mention not only they DESPERATELY need to win, but they must be TICKED at last year's playoff game, so there's also that...). I think this has everything to be the best game of Thanksgiving weekend.
-
I think the Saints d will be shredded by Vernon Davis. He is so hard to cover with that speed. I like Keapernick alot. Be is so good on the long throws. But I hope it to be a good game. Tebow whould get the nod at this point. He broke two ribs but Ryan said he was 100%. Edelman is a real good player. I like his two touchdwons he got though. And on a side note go Irish!!!!!!

Well football today was great because my Rams won for the first time since week 5. The Niners won like I thought they would. Denver won(like my whole family is Broncos fans so I like when they win). The Bears lost 6 key players which is gonna hurt them alot. And I knew the Ginats had a shot but 38-10 over the Packers is like amazing. And it is clear to see the Steelers are nothing without Big Ben. And Notre Dame(my favorite college team)has an automatic spot in the BCS because they are 12-0 and have no games left. I am excited for that!

Me and my opponent have no players playing Monday night so I'll be 10-1-1 now. If my numbers are correct I'll have the #1 and #2 QBs in my league, the #1 RB. I'll have the #1 TE for at least one more week at least until Graham passes my injuried Gronkowski. I actually drafted each of those players and didnt pick any up in FA. My scoring is a bit different than some leagues with bonuses for 40+ and 50+ TD catches, passes, and rushes so my players more than likely are different than some leagues. Doug Martin has a 9 point advantage over Foster which is the #2 rusher in my league. RGIII moves to the top of the QBs in my league with Brees in 2nd followed by Aaron Rodgers. 3 of my 4 WRs didnt score a single point this week but with RGIII putting up 44 points and my IDPs scoring a total of 51 points I can't complain.
GO 49ERS!!!!! Oh yeah and the dolphins got a win too so both my favorite teams got wins.

All in all, I think it was a nice weekend. I kinda feel bad for the Saints, they were REALLY punished for each turnover, though I guess that's what you get playing against the 49ers defense, and I feel bad for Alex Smith as well, it was really, really weird (and kinda douchy) benching him like that, and even though Kaepernick is getting the wins, I'm not sure he's getting the numbers, but I still think Smith is screwed and not coming back in. My Fantasy League is settled for the playoffs (I'm seeded n.º 1 and completely screwed, playing agains the Seat 1 Drafter from our league, and even though I beat him 3 times, they were by 6 points, 2 points and 1 point), nothing can happen in the last week to change anything, but the important thing is the guys had fun, and we will probably have another all-brazilian fantasy league next year, perhaps with more than 6 people (I think we might crack 8-10).
-
I feel bad for Smith as well. Kaepernick may be their future but not now I think. Vernon Davis said Smith was his guy still so we will see. I hope he gets his job back. And I now love Cam Newton for getting me 37 fantasy points this week and helping me win.
-
I'm still rooting for the Saints to get to the playoffs on the Wildcard (c'mon, a team finally having a real shot at duking it out at home court? awesome!), but I'm not sure it's possible. Green Bay losing helps, but truth be told, I'm not sure there ARE two available spots the Saints can fight for right now, I think Packers/Bears are going to get one no matter what, so it's basically a single spot left, and the Saints are 2 games behind (if they don't want to depend on breakers). If this keeps up as bad as it has been lately (Cowboy Stadium - Dallas don't make it to the playoffs; Indianapolis - Manning gets hurt, worst LEague record; New Orleans - THIS happens with the Saints), I'm not sure I'd even WANT to have a Super Bowl, unless I'm the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles or Carolina Panthers. Or the Miami Dolphis, because let's face it, they're doing a little better this year, but it's not like they're going t go anywhere, I mean, it's the DOLPHINS! THey NEVER make it.
-
The NFC has several teams that could make it. Like you said its either gonna be the Bears or Packers for one spot. But then you have the Vikings, Buccaneers, and Seahawks at 6-5. And the Saints, Redskins, and Cowboys at 5-6. So who knows. For AFC I think it will be two of these three teams: Colts, Steelers, and Bengals.
-
Aren't the Colts winning their Division?
-
The Texans are 10-1
-
Right, of course, duh. I think I mistook then for the Broncos.
-
So Kaepernick has been name the official starter for the 49ers. If the Niners want Alex Smith to stay another year(I don't think will happen if Kaepernick continues to play well) they would have to pay him 10 million dollars. So he might be a free agent. And her is a few places I think he could end up. #1: Dallas. This might be a long shot but I don't think Jerry Jones likes Tony Romo. #2: I think Fitzpatrick is done there. And Alex Smith would be good at what the Bills should do more, run the ball with C.J Spiller and Jackson. #3:Arizona perhaps. They need a qb bad. And Larry Fitzgerald would like a good one as well. Last one: The Jets. Mayne not but Sanchez is bad. And its not all him but he looks bad. And I don't think Tebow is the answer there either.

Problem is, the Jets JUST HIRED Tebow, I don't think they'd doyet another dive for a QB. Romo... I don't like Romo. I really don't. I think that when he started, he could have been great. He wasn't. Time to move on, I thik but I'm not sure they'd replace him.
Any of the teams that have been starting rookies by choice won't be after a veteran (maybe they would, but it's not like Alex Smith would be OK being in the same situation elsewhere), so that leaves out the Bengals, Panthers, Redskins, Colts, Seahawks, Dolphins, Buccaneers and other such teams.
I think Philly might be a possibility, I'm not sure they are confortable starting Nick Foles, it's more like "Vick is not doing anything anyway, hey, might as well try the new guy!" (which the Jets should listen to, btw), and with Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy to take the heat off the passing game, I think he could be a nice addition. Again, I think it'd be a situation close to what he has in SF anyway (he'd be just a placeholder for the new guy until he matures), so I think Smith would be more inclined to go elsewhere, probably a team that has no rookie QB's looming in the shadows, or really bad ones, but I think he'd be "interesting" in Philly.
On the other hand, while the Bills might be a possibility, I'm not sure Smith will like his chances fighting for a playoff spot in a Division with Tom Brady in it, so he might dodge the Bills thinking of trying to get to the playoffs more (when you're in a Division where teams are really close, and some might steal some games from you, and the other team has Tom Brady, you'r looking at a 6-game guaranteed streak that will net you aroun 3-4 losses, not where you want to be if you'd like to get to the postseason before retiring and actually make a name for yourself, after being overhyped years earlier).
The Cardinals are indeed another possibility, and perhaps the even the Raiders, I think Palmer has overstayed his welcome.
-
Nice ones on the Raiders and Eagles. The NFC east is always open for any team in the division it seems. Could be a good fit. And like I said Dallas is a long shot I think. And if Tebow got a start. They could determine if its more Sanchez's fault or the whole team.
-
Wow, it was just SO painful to watch the Saints play yesterday. Specially so because of my Fantasy, which had Brees, Graham and Jacquiz Rodgers, so it looks like I might actually lose another one, although it won't matter for the overall record.
Also, since you guys get better coverage than I do (I mean, I can't even watch sportscenter due to time zone differences), whatever happend with Kasay and the Saints anyway? The guy was doing just fine. Now, I'm not saing Hartley is not as well, but I can't see a reason for the change, and specially not seeing Kasay pop up somewhere else, like Cundiff, it's just weird.
-
I had Moore and Colsten on one team. So that sucked as far as no tds. But I had Gonzalez on another one. Drew Brees' 54 straight games with a touchdown ended last night though. And the Saints are probably done as far as playoffs are concerned. Kasay was like 45 and I think he retired.
-
Ah... that explains a lot. Yeah, Brees' streak ending sucks, thought that might open up room for Brady to close in. :D
-
Yeah that's what I was thinking. He has 43 straight games with at least one. Go Tom!
-
Well the Rams best the 49ers in OT. At least a win this time unlike a tie last time. They are now 5-6-1. Playoffs maybe is far fetched right now but here is to hoping. I did watch the Patriot game. That was fun. I saw the last drive of the Colts against the Lions. Nearly 80 yards in one minute 14 seconds and no timouts. That was magical if you ask me. But that has been the whole Colts season thus far: Magical. The Patriots, Broncos, and Falcons all clinched their divisions today. And the Texans clinched a playoff spot. They have to play the Colts twice though. And some how the Steelers best the Ravens in Baltimore without Big Ben there to lead them. The Seahawks did beat the Bears in OT. The Jets were down 3-0 and Sanchez wasn't doing anything besides throwing for 3 interceptions. So Tebow wasn't going to play due to his ribs being hurt. So their 3rd strings qb comes in the 3rd quarter and gets the Jets a touchdown(a one yard pass) and the Jets win 7-6. I really didn't know what to think except now Rex Ryan has a decision to make here.
-
The Cowboys-Eagles game was also a blast to watch, and I'm psyched for Monday Night, it's going to be awesome.
-
i'm a big eagles fan. but i realize our season is over. however, its always satisfying to know that dallas can barely beat us when our #1 QB, #1 WR and #1 RB are out with injuries.
-
Yes, Dallas has some serious issues. Funny thing is, if you look at the roster, their offense is good, their defense is good, but their team simply isn't, they can't perform. And talk about not having a home, I mean, the Cowboy Stadium simply does not feel like home court advantage at all for them, weird...
-
Maybe the stadium is to big. Hahahah. Kidding. The Eagle game was great. Was rooting for them to win. Well Its interesting who will get the top 5 draft picks. Right now I think it is the Chiefs(2-10), the Jaguars(2-10), then the Eagles, Panthers, and Raiders are all 3-9. But that's right now of course. I think Reid is done and so is Norv Turner.
-
its a shame i don't really feel like its andy's fault. he has a QB who will NOT stop taking hits and getting concussions and beaking ribs, he lost jackson for the season. the real trouble is their awful defense.
-
Its not all his fault. But their wonder might not see that way. And if there is another coach out there they want they will pursue him. Way for RGIII to get it done last night.
-
Well only one of my teams made the playoffs but I am doing pretty well for round one(weeks 14-15). I got 83 points without Brady or Owen Daniels being used yet. And go Patriots! Well my Rams won again. Three straight weeks now and they have a slight chance for the playoffs. Here's to hoping. Now I will say that Saints-Giants game was awesome!!! And the Seahawks rolled the Cardinals 58-0. Kirk Cousins coming in for injured RGIII and winning was awesome. The Vikings also surprised me with a good win. And the Colts are 9-4 and playoff bound. The Steelers game was surprising to me. The Chargers just kicked their #$&*@! up and down the field. And finally here the Browns looked pretty good.
-
Well the Patriots killed Houstan in a awesome fashion. Now they need to beat the 49ers or Denver can get ahead of them. That will be their biggest test thus far I think.
-
I was the champion of one of my leagues mostly because of Tom Brady. Now that all the playoffs team are official(except the Cowboys and Redskins). After watching the Broncos every week this year they only seems to be getting better. And they have home field advantage throughout the playoffs which makes them scarrier. Really glad the Colts are in. They are fun to watch. The Texans are falling apart. And Atlanta doesn't impress me either. The Niners are up and down. Seattle is killer now. My Rams finsished 7-8-1. Not bad after 2-14. The Vikings got in. And Adrian Peterson was 9 yards short of the rushing record. He got that team to the playoffs. He may get a few MVP voted but I think Manning gets it. Oh and now after beating the Packers at home the Vikings get to go to Green Bay next week for a wild card game. Can't wait.
-
Peterson was not 9 yards short of the record, he broke the record, but was 9 yards short of making it to 2000.
-
Peterson was not 9 yards short of the record, he broke the record, but was 9 yards short of making it to 2000.
Incorrect AP got 2097 rushing yards this season, however he didnt get the record for single season. Eric Dickerson still holds that record with 2105.
-
Did I confuse his record with Megatron's? Was HE the one short of 2000 yards (receiving)?
-
He was 36 yards short of 2k. He did break Jerry Rice's with 1,964(Rice had 1,848).
-
So that explains it. I confused the two of them, I knew someone broke the record, but didn't make it to 2000, and I though it was Peterson.
