So now there will be 3 movies made, and it just makes
Me hope that more cards will be released, that the rights get sold or something.
Anyone heard any news on a possible tcg for the hobbit?
-
The Hobbit is going to be three movies?
-
Yeah. December 2012. Then December 2013. Then summer 2014.
-
That... sucks.
-
Trilogy confirmed (http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2012/07/30/59780-peter-jackson-confirms-third-film/)
-
Yeah I know it really does suck. But I guess it will be longer right? But at least its summer 2014 instead of waiting another year for part 3.
-
But the question doesn't have answer. Will there be The Hobbit TCG?
-
lol epic, really pumped for this

Considering the margin of success in the long run, I'm not sure Decipher will bother, so at least no The Hobbit TCG that plays ALONGSIDE LotR TCG, which already makes it not that great, even if it does come out.
Plus, with the LCG making good money and appearing like it will last more in the long run, I seriously doubt it, though I'd love to be proved wrong.

Yeah I dunno. I'm pumped there will be three movies tho.
Im glad the will expand more into the white council and the nercomancet at Dol Guldor.

Trailer Two!!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s0AU3T6vJw&list=FLhF-_xJxTaETJ12eI___rAg&index=1&feature=plpp_video)

That was awesome cant wait for the movie!!! 3 more months!!! So excited.
-
Young Gollum looks hella awesome!
-
I hope there's LOTR TCG expansion sets for the hobbit movies. If not then I hope the Hobbit movies generate more interest in the game at least. :uh-huh:

Had to quote myself, sorry. :D

So far I love everything I've seen as far as trailer footage, the only exception being the Riddles in the Dark stuff. IMO Gollum shouldn't be his same dual personality self from Lotr - he should just be a scary creature. From the trailer it seemed way to casual and Bilbo didn't seem frightened at all.
But EVERYTHING else looks amAZING to me! Hobbit TCG would be fantastic, but I think we'll instead see an LCG (if anythinng).

I saw that:
"Publisher Information

I do not know if LOTR will be the same or not.
What do you think?
-
Well, I for one am intrigued...
-
i looked over some of the cards they have posted and i have to say, it all looks very bland. i mean really, there is almost no flavor compared to what decipher was producing. maybe the mechanics will be good enough to make it successful, but i'm not holding my breath.
-
God. I could design a better card game overnight.
-
My, that looks bad. They even syphooned the card images and titles. Sure makes one wonder about our whole "DC policy" here on the site...
-
dang, they can't even get the whole fellowship together... only 7 heroes: aragorn legolas gimli boromir gandalf frodo and sam. so i guess merry and pippin just don't count anymore... it is a sad day for LOTR TCG
-
+1 on the ugliness of those cards.
However, I am not really sure this is a Trading Card Game like Decipher's. They call it a Deck Building Game. No idea what this means, but it seems they have a very limited number of cards (226 in fact) that are the same for every box. Looks like an advanced Mille Bornes to me.
On the other hand, they announce for late 2012 "The Hobbit Expandable Trading Card Game" that might be more like Decipher's TCG... I guess we have to wait and see.
-
The deck size is only 10 cards plus your hero, and one of those cards is pre-determined by your hero (Rangers Sword in the case of aragorn) Pretty lame.
-
i think that its probably a game like Dominion or something.
-
Yup. Thats the essence of a deckbuilder game. You get cards and add them to your deck, thus expanding it.
Dominion, Ascension and Thunderstone are examples.
