Title: Please help make my Dunland win :-)
Post by: neopium on August 24, 2012, 01:17:53 AM
Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice to improve my current Ents/Dunland deck.

The Ent side works correctly, but I have plenty of problems with the Dunland side.

Against archery it does not work at all and it requires plenty of twilight, so it is very sensitive to choke as well.

These are two strong weaknesses that make them very often inefficient...

When I play with a friend of my, I use sites from all blocks and thus can include the "skip archery phase" sites, but this is not always enough as I need (and don't succeed) to kill quite early on the site path.

Your experienced advice is appreciated :-)

I've always loved Isenguard when it comes to dealing with archery. They might be worth mixing in for things like Spies of Saruman or Uruk-hai Armory. I've never played Dunland though so I'm no expert. Still if all else fails a 4th hides couldn't hurt and Saruman, Rabble-rouser is very efficent with 4 vitality for only 4 cost (and a useful game text to boot!)

Hides is a standard 4-off in dunland. The rest depends greatly, but you have to choose. You have 2 site control dunland by example, or play from hand in skirmish dunland. You cannot have both in the deck as it diludes the strategy. Focus on one or the other (or maybe another strategy as win to fierce dunlands) and focus the entire deck on it. An example is the French deck posted above who goes clearly for 2 sites then spamming elders with Ready To fall.

Ringbearer is right. Btw it's a general advice for Shadow deckbuilding : have one target (mass wounds, corruption, need site control, swarm ...) and build only around this target, you can splash some cards preventing bad match-ups.

Thanks all for the advice.

I used to focus my dunland deck only on site control and 4 elders. In fact, except the elders, all the cards were site control targeted... But it didn't work very well.

At that time, I had no Freca, hungry savage at all: it's a real-life game, so I play with cards I really have. This also explains the 3 hides instead of 4. I had only 3 cards... I just bought the fourth one yesterday.

I will follow your advice and focus it back to site control and elders. Hope it will be enough to win at last :-)

Thanks all for your contributions!
