Title: So I spotted this while going through behind-the-scenes photos for The Hobbit.

That, I'm basically 100% sure, is an oaken shield, used quite famously by our pal Thorin at the Battle of Azanulbizar. Which means we might get it as a prologue cold-open as we did for the Battle of Dagorlad in FotR, or as a flashback somewhere to set up Azog and Bolg.

Either way, consider this scene confirmed.

That will be awesome. Open prologue would be nice.
