Title: 0W Cards
Post by: civ4master on April 25, 2013, 03:13:54 PM
What's up with these cards? And did they really make them for the online game, or is it some sort of elaborate joke?
And why would anyone even think of playing against them?

3 ridiculous examples:
Dwarven Escort (http://lotrtcgwiki.com/wiki/lotr00w02)
4 cards...? #-o

Treebeard, Enemy of the Hand (http://lotrtcgwiki.com/wiki/lotr00w04)
Free discarding of a minion he skirmishes...?  >:(

Army of Harad (http://lotrtcgwiki.com/wiki/lotr00w09)
What? A (1) Minion with 17 Strength?  :o

Here's (http://web.archive.org/web/20041010193949/http://lotronline.decipher.com/notes/triumph_menace.shtml) the closest thing I could find.

Triumph and Menace were keywords that utilized a randomness factor to activate. I don't know anymore than that since I never played LOTRO.

Some more info & speculation in an earlier thread here: http://lotrtcgwiki.com/forums/index.php?action=printpage;topic=379.0

Looks like it was a mechanic that was designed specially for the online game; ie, there wasn't an easy way to replicate it with physical cards.

The cards are ridiculous without their Triumph and Menace. You definitely don't need to enhance them with the extra effects...
