STEP 2: FIND A CARD THAT COST 02 SILVER
STEP 3: BUY 22 COPIES OF THAT CARD (DO NOT FOIL ANY! NO FOILS!)
STEP 4: IF ON A SINGLE COMPUTER JUST SIGN OUT AND REGISTER ANOTHER ACCOUNT, IF ON 2 COMPUTERS, STAY LOGGED IN ON MASTER ACCOUNT, AND JUST REGISTER A NEW ACCOUNT ON THE SECOND COMPUTER
STEP 5: CONTINUE TO PURCHASE COPIES OF THE CARD YOU WERE JUST BUYING ON THE MASTER ACCOUNT UNTIL YOUR GOLD SUPPLY RUNS TOO LOW. THIS IS USUALLY ABOUT 22-24 COPIES I CANT REMEMBER.
STEP 6: REPEAT STEP 5 BY CREATING 1 LAST BOGUS ACCOUNT TO DRIVE THE PRICE UP ON THE CARD ABOUT 5 MORE PURCHASES WILL DO.
BY NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE RAISED THE CARDS PRICE TO ABOUT 200 OR 300 HONESTLY I CANT REMEMBER BUT NOW ON YOUR MASTER ACCOUNT THOSE 22 ORIGINAL COPIES WILL NOW NET YOU 300 GOLD GUARANTEED! NOW YOUR READY FOR STEP 7
STEP 7: LOG BACK INTO MASTER ACCOUNT AND PROFIT! SELL BACK THE 22 COPIES OF THE CARD YOU JUST RAISED IN PRICE WITH THE OTHER 2 ACCOUNTS AND YOU WILL NET 300 GOLD! NOW IS WHERE IT GETS GRINDY/TRICKY
STEP 8: THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO COVER YOUR TRACKS AND GO BACK TO THE OTHER 2 ACCOUNTS YOU USED TO RAISE THE CARDS PRICE AND SELL BACK THE REMAINING COPIES OF THE CARD YOU JUST PROFITED FROM. THIS WILL MAKE YOU ABLE TO RINSE AND REPEAT THE WHOLE COMBO WITHOUT THE HASSLE OF HAVING TO GO FROM CARD TO CARD TO CARD TRYING TO FIND THE NEXT ONE TO JACK UP IN PRICE.

Just stop selling singles, and zero out the collections again. Stopping singles sales was the idea supported by the most players last time, and is the simplest and most effective solution to the problem.

I agree. This method of beating the system was very obvious, but I didn't realise how effective it could be (I thought it wouldn't make more than 20 gold every time you did it, so not so hugely gamebreaking). And I will be very annoyed if my collection goes again-I'd just finished my Fellowship Block deck. Stop selling singles for the moment, until some better method can be found. (I still think fixing card prices would be best).

I like the merchant's real life economy idea, but this is not designed well.
STOP THE SINGLES.
If you really want to make money, buy the boosters and be smart about it. This way is ruining the game for everyone else.

We who collected our decks the hard way having spent lots of time and effort will be pissed, if we have to do it for a third time. I did it twice and I know i can do it again, but its getting exhausting. I'm pretty sure many players will quit.
Plus removing the singles is not the best solution, if the My Cards concept stays. I mean, how are the new players supposed to get their commons and uncommons then - buy 20+ boosters to get a set of Isengard Warrior? I don't think so.
So just remove that multiple account thing for good.

Honestly it's probably already too late. Those who want to exploit it are gaining an unfair advantage even as we speak. The only way to undo that advantage, is to zero collections.

If we all get zeroed, it will just be one never-ending ever-growing sealed deck game. We like those, don't we? The playing field will be even, if we all start over from scratch.

True... the only thing to stop this right now is to stop selling singles.

A little insight on what I was doing (before I started avoiding the merchant). I was selling ANY card I had more than 4 of. I was actually attempting a collection playset - and I was just at the point where I was buying 4x cheap rares because I had 4x every common card. A few cards, like hobbit sword, I would foil when I couldn't sell, and sell the foils, to grind down to 4 copies. Call me crazy, but it passes the time between tournament games, and it is exactly what I did back in the day. I have the binders of 4x each card... I would give my commons/uncommons to random players at the store back in the day.
I know they are virtual cards, but I like collecting, and earning cards is *WAY* more fun than buying them, which is why I haven't jumped into any RL tcgs. TBH, Ebay and the internet age ruined the local tourney scene with internet decks where you can share the winning decks, and buy the cards in less than a week. I like Gemp because My Cards simulates the environment before all the internet deck stuff went down. You casual players are playing in that internet deck environment. :p
I'm willing to sacrifice to make it MORE like the environment I enjoy. I got my rares the hard way, not buying from the singles cabinet at the local card store. But by opening packs. However, whatever happens, I feel we may lose some of the community.

I remember someone suggesting that the merchant automatically buys your cards once you hit 4. It sounds like a good idea, as it would take absolutely ages for anyone to abuse to get more than 1 gold. It would render virtually all cards worthless in not very long, though. What if the merchant only sells cards? Most shops would only sell you cards, but would never buy yours, so it is realistic.

What if you can only sell a card if it was pulled from a pack? Add a special script to singles that were purchased directly from the merchant, making them unable to be resold.

I support not selling singles; however, establishing a fair price for selling cards to the merchant will require some thought.

If everyone could have enough of a brain/heart to do this, we wouldn't have a problem.
As for those of you abusing the merchant: you're ruining it for everyone who plays fairly and for yourself, by destroying the site.
If this continues, little bits of the site will have to be limited (like singles). Eventually, you'll ruin the entire experience.

But if someone pulls some rare from a booster, he could still make another account and increase its price, then sell the one opened and profit. In fact it would be even worse, cause he could not sell the copies bought from the other account, and the price will remain high.
BTW I would appreciate if MarcinS announces if a reset is coming or not, as I see no point in playing League matches and Dailys until thats clear. In fact I better save my last Sealed matches for post reset, so I can win some boosters when I'll need them more. (Thats it if I bother to collect it all from scratch for a third time, which I'm still not certain I'll do).
