Title: Gondor and Dwarves
Post by: eomund on June 12, 2013, 10:28:44 AM
I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about unplayable culture combinations, and one that came up is Gondor + Dwarves. Is it possible to make a deck around these two cultures and have it be competitive, in any format? Based on our (limited) knowledge of the cards, it seems like all you'd be able to do is mash together a half-deck of each culture and pretend it's a deck.

Without thinking too much about it, Aragorn, Defender of Free Peoples comes to mind.

Never managed to build an efficient deck around him however

I had a standard deck with RB Gimli + Ring of Doom paired with gondor, and Forth the Three Hunters!, it was a fun deck :)

I've never really seen Gondor and Dwarves mixed in a deck, though I have seen Dwarves supported by Aragorn quite a lot.  My Fellowship Block Dwarf deck has Gorn in to give the dwarves a chance against Nazgul.  In movie, DotFP with Stout and Strong destroys any kind of wounding shadow.

The Skilled Defender + Prince of Dol Amroth deck works well (once setup) and is fun to boot
