Title: His First Serious Question
Post by: jdizzy001 on September 21, 2013, 08:46:26 PM
Has anyone ever used His First Serious Check? Is it any good? It looks like it COULD be used very well with deep in thought.

Never used it. Its just a card that basically doesnt do anything because of the randomness involved.  What are the odds of finding that key card, even after the shadow phase when all cards you want to play are played.

Well, since this is becoming more a discussion it should be moved,

but even then, what are the odds of finding an essential free peoples card. Any good deck can cope with the loss of a single card. Also, it clogs up deckspae for cards that work much better.

I have toyed with the idea of throwing His First Serious Check in a deck based around A New Light, The Palantir of Orthanc, Recovered Seeing Stone, and Drawing His Eye. As you mention, His First Serious Check combos somewhat with Deep in thought (which, incidentally, would fit in nicely in the potential deck I mentioned above). I have yet to actually test it... I get the feeling it would be too NPE for my wife to want to play against, hehe.
