Title: Eowyn vs the Ninja
Post by: DirtyPo37 on November 20, 2013, 12:12:43 PM
So here's my deck. So far it's 8-2 on GEMP, though I've tweaked it a bit in those 10 games. I'm usually decked by site 9 but have had enough to win with the Shadow side. I haven't had to run with FP yet. It sits right at 60 cards.

Thoughts?

Ring-bearer: Frodo, Resolute Hobbit
Ring: The One Ring, Answer To All Riddles

Adventure deck:
Edoras Hall
Rohirrim Camp
Hall of the Kings
Pelennor Plain
Steward's Tomb
Minas Tirith First Circle
Pelennor Grassland
Northern Ithilien
Dagorlad

Free Peoples Draw Deck:
3x Legolas, Greenleaf
3x Aragorn, Elessar Telcontar
1x Éowyn, Lady of Ithilien
1x Merry, Swordthain
1x Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver
2x Elrond, Herald to Gil-galad
2x Aragorn's Bow
1x Brego
2x Rohirrim Javelin
1x Éowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade
1x Sting, Bane of the Eight Legs
1x Vilya
1x The Tale of Gil-galad
4x Gondor Bowmen
1x Fortress Never Fallen
2x Thundering Host
3x Shadowplay

Shadow Draw Deck:
2x Gollum, Mad Thing
3x Shelob, Her Ladyship
4x Desert Lord
1x Úlairë Enquëa, Lieutenant of Morgul
2x Web
4x Captured by the Ring

I'd add Leowyn and another Shadowplay. In my opinion Thundering Host is not too useful.

I'd remove Aragorn's Bow and put Anduril, Flame of the West instead. Gondor Bowmen and Aragorn's ability provide enough use for his vitality and having one decent fighter won't hurt you.

I'm not entirely sold that ninja gollum can kill in movie format. Unless it's stinker + easterlings.

Most of my wins have come with kills from the shadow side. I haven't had to run with the FP yet. I'll test out changing gorn's bow for Anduril. The only problem with Leowyn is that I already dump cards with the shadow, I can't afford to do it with the FP side too.

If adding Leowyn to a LoI-heavy deck is a problem because of the shadow side, it may be simply because the shadow doesn't fit the FP well and you need to pair it with another one.

By the way, why just 2 Gollums and the same ones? I always try to run 4 different Gollums in Ninja, giving me more choice. Actually I often wished I could play 5 or more :) Stinker, Old Villain, Vile Creature, Dark as Darkness - all can be useful.
