I got help with the others. so.... does anyone have a good Dwarf list?
-
i guess not
-
Some people like to play the discard lists paired with Sauron discard. I like something more along these lines, personally:
Gimli, BoG
The One Ring, ATAR
Freeps (40):
Sindri (Start)
Durin III (Start)
Linnar
Fror
Uri
Aragorn, RotN
Faramir, SoD
Sam, SoH
Gimli's Battle Axe, TW
Axe of Erebor
2x Dwarven Axe
4x Hand Axe
4x Dwarven Bracers
Gimli's Helm
Dwarven Armor
Ring of Fury
Ring of Retribution
Ring of Guile
Ring of Accretion
2x Here is Good Rock
3x Battle Tested
3x Flurry of Blows
3x Axe Strike
3x Blood Runs Chill
Something like that. Pair it with a Moria shadow, be it straight Moria or Moria Navy (Black Sails and some corsairs for hand extension). Hope that helps a little.
Edit: Forgot to mention, bid to start first if you can (remember you have SoH to help with burdens a bit) and use Dunharrow Plateau as your site 1 to pull Here is Good Rock.

Here's my Movie Block dwarf list. It would have trouble against Corsairs, but then again most decks would. I use Beseigers as the shadow, but most wins are FP wins. Dunharrow Plateau almost always pulls Loyalty Unshaken. The "last card in" is Battle Tested.
Even with two Sam, I prefer to bid zero. Sam has other uses, as an archery sink and a way to remove two burdens if Gimli needs to fight at some point.
Ring-bearer: Gimli, Bearer of Grudges
Ring: The One Ring, Isildur's Bane
Free Peoples Draw Deck:
1x Durin III, Dwarven Lord
1x Linnar, Dwarven Lord
1x Sindri, Dwarven Lord
2x Sam, Son of Hamfast
1x Thrarin, Dwarven Smith
4x Dwarven Axe
3x Dwarven Bracers
1x Gimli's Helm
2x Hand Axe
1x Ring of Accretion
2x Ring of Fury
2x Ring of Guile
4x Axe Strike
2x Baruk Khazad
1x Battle Tested
2x Blood Runs Chill
1x Courtesy of My Hall
2x Loyalty Unshaken

why isildur's bane?
-
I remember trying The One Ring, Answer to All Riddles, but the combination of 1 strength and 1 vitality seems to fit best. Adding the burden to get the extra strength is sometimes difficult.
-
i use the one ring, the binding ring is that bad? seems alot better
-
I always play ATAR with dwarves. With one wound you play even, with 2 wounds you make a profit. Also, the 2 vitality helps more as Gimli really doesnt need anymore strength. he usually dies from other problems.
And the binding ring sucks on 2 issues: the pull effect is bad since it eats away your already slow resistance... and if you are exhausted you cant put it on.
-
You use the Binding Ring to pull Ring of Fury. 2 burdens for +2 resistance is a fair trade when you have Sam. I'm having a lot of fun with a Realm of Dwarrowdelf deck that plays Host of Moria to pull back all the shadow cards I discarded. It's doing quite well, too :)
Personally I never use ATAR unless I have healing in my deck. Not protecting you from archery is a huge gamble, in my opinion. Aragorn, Defender of Free Peoples and Stout and Strong, or Dwarven Heart and Axe of Erebor work well against that.
-
see that was my thoughts
-
The problem is you add 2 burdens to add 2 resistance, which in fact doesnt do much. You do have to find Sam to remove said burdens, while there are several shadows triggering off burdens, such as mOrcs and Beasterlings.
Besides, a ring does so much more on a fighter, and you dont want Gimli skirmishing.
-
Well I did say you need Sam for that. And I disagree about the rings for fighters. Dwarven Axe and Dwarven Bracers are usually much more useful unless you use Slaked Thirsts for Wormtongue. Ring of Fury is fantastic for getting up Gimli's resistance and also is a huge boost to Blood Runs Chill that you will often use your Gimli for. Either way the potential to pull a ring must surely beat no potential.
I'm not saying the Binding Ring is perfect, but I do like having the option to put it on outside of a skirmish, and an exert is often far less of a cost than a burden.
-
Exert is limited, a burden isnt as much. if you are exhausted (which happens a lot, especially vs morcs, which are heavily played in movie) its just waiting for the fatal wound.
And I usually place the ring on Durin, since he can kill without overwhelming with the damage +3 that he has.
I tried Binding Ring myself, and found it causing an autoloss versus morgul orcs.
-
im with ringbearer on this. i dont draw sam fast enough.
-
1x Courtesy of My Hall
2x Loyalty Unshaken
Why the Courtesy of My Hall? I like the healing aspect, but is there a way to pump it up with more cards?
-
I agree with Ringbearer; Morgul Orcs are very common in Movie and Easterlings are not bad. The Binding Ring is way too dangerous. It's not that hard to find a ring - I play five of them. ATAR vs. Isildur's Bane is a much closer decision, as mentioned above. I just think ATAR is safer.
As for Courtesy of My Hall, it's 98% for healing. Occasionally it triggers Battle Tested or Sindri, but usually I heal immediately. I tried Endurance of Dwarves, but it only helps one dwarf and it can get removed. Dwarven Heart gives two heals, but I don't want to play Axe of Erebor because it costs 2 and I need to have it available, else Dwarven Heart hurts.
