Title: What's more fun than a Starter Deck?
Post by: Hobbit_Pizza on September 27, 2008, 07:41:58 PM
Anyone have a customized starter deck solution that I can build from sets 1-7?

I need to keep a couple of simple yet fun decks handy for introducing friends to the game on the fly.

Thanks, but I already have all the cards I need to build the decks myself.
That's why I posted in Lothlorien and not Esgaroth Marketplace.

I also built a spreadsheet of Starter Deck Lists from all the original starters.

See here (http://www.pwnworld.org/uploads/Starter Deck Lists.xls) if anyone wants it.

Hey H_P, I once had like cheap versions of my more expensive decks, like a simpler elven archery deck, a dwarven one, a knights one and so on, with like 2-3 rares, low-end ones most of the time.

How many decks are you willing to build? I could help you with the lists.

Add me on msn if you want: leonardokula@hotmail.com

I basically am hunting through my box of 10k+ c/u's and putting together the original starter decks, keeping 3 IBs handy to swap out the RRs, and I'll probably throw in some Stings and rare companions.

*LOL* If we're talking about credit, give it to Marquetry. It was his hard work. ;)

Moria's pretty fun and can get by without Goblin Armory at a lower level. Pretty much a padded FotR Gandalf starter... maybe throw in The Underdeeps of Moria too for more fun with Goblin Sneak. Nice introduction to deck manipulation, especially if your friends are used to games where they generally draw only one card per turn. Only thing is to make sure the opposing fellowship stands a chance against repeated swarms.

I have a bunch of starter decks that I have just taken the rares out of.  I am going to tweak these decks with just common/uncommon cards to round them out.  I want to build 6 decks for each set and balance them as much as possible so I can introduce new players to the game without having a deck full of rares.

Thanks for the file. This gives me a starting point on building decks.
