Title: Card Help
Post by: Creationtrekker on March 27, 2014, 01:14:57 PM
Hi all my friend and I are playing and we have come to a bit of a blip concerning certain cards that require to remove twilight tokens as part of their game text. The Palantir card which says you can remove 2 token to reveal the top card of draw deck to discard it, and also the likes of Southrons which you can remove 3 at the start of a skirmish to wound a companion it is skirmishing. Can you perform these actions more than once, is it rolling if you have lots of twilight tokens going for you (e.g. remove 9 tokens to take 3 wounds off a companion)? Thanks

If you are meaning The Palantir of Orthanc, Seventh Seeing-Stone, yes, you can keep removing the twilight.  The southrons say at the start of the skirmish phase, so once you use the game text it is no longer the start of the felowship phase.  You can only use it once.

Phase keyword abilities such as the one on The Palantir (Shadow:Remove [2] to...) may be used as many times as you can pay the cost. In the case of palantir, that cost is removing 2 twilight. The only other limitation on phase keyword abilities are those explicit in the ability's own text, ex. Trust Me As You Once Did and its limit of +3. And even then, that limit is only for that individual card. You can get +3 strength off of each TMAYOD you exert Gandalf to use. Hope that helps. But yeah, Carl is right. "At the start of each skirmish..." And other abilities that trigger in the same way ("when the fellowship moves to this site", etc" and are performed once.
