Title: Any advice on cleaning dirty cards?
Post by: idleninja on August 18, 2014, 06:36:12 PM
I got a sweet Double Shot foil in a huge lot of cards I got online, but it (and all of the good cards in the box ) is super dirty. The card has some kind of grime/food stain in the top-left corner where the twilight cost and card name is. It rubbed off but there is still a some left on that part, is there anything I should/shouldn't do to LOTR cards when cleaning them?

Whatever you do, don't use anything wet to clean it. The cards can get jacked up pretty quick if they get wet.

I have not tried this, but careful use of one of those "magic eraser" things might work.

Ok I will stick to dry cotton swabs then, thanks for the help. I'd try the magic eraser but I don't have any foils I'm willing to experiment on...

You might be ok using a slightly damp cloth, just make sure you keep wetness away from the edges of the card. That's the card's biggest weak point for moisture.
