I just FEEL dead. :-X
I was pretty tired for a couple days after my surgery last week--my body doesn't do anesthesia very well--and sometime during that time period a cold/flu something or other settled in and camped out. I think I'm finally fighting it off, but I've been so tired. No DCs, RPGing, or posts in general from me for about a week now...sorry about that.
I hope to finally have some new DCs and RPG stuff up later today, for anyone who's been wondering about where the heck I've been. (Probably nobody, but I can hope my absence was noticed by someone. :P)
In other news, for those who follow football, how 'bout them Redskins?! :mrgreen:

Blarg. So much for diving back into things, eh? I say that and then vanish again. :ninja:
Spent the last two days getting a polygraph and psych evaluation as part of the process of getting a job with NSA. Spent most of the weekend before that alternatively cheering for the Redskins and stressing about aforementioned polygraph.
As it turns out, the polygraph did not go well. I have NOTHING to hide. Never even been in the same room as people doing drugs (much less participating myself), nor have I ever had more than 2 beers at a time (and I can count on one hand the number of times I've had ANY alcohol most years)...never even smoked! Yet for some weird reason, my results kept spiking when they asked me if I have ever used any illegal drugs. :suspect: I can only guess that it's because I feel so strongly about how they ruin people's lives...living with a police officer (now retired) as a father, you hear all sorts of stories that end in tragedy, all traced back to drugs. Never had ANY desire, especially since I know how dangerous their fleeting "escape" is in almost every circumstance.
So I got rather flustered that this machine was accusing me of craving something I want NO part of, and that just made the results worse. The person adminstering basically said she didn't believe me, which really perturbed me. ](*,) But I just swallowed my tongue and reiterated again and again that I had never had any drugs in my body, never been around any, never been tempted to pursue any, never sold any, never knew anyone that I could say had wanted any, etc etc etc. If this mucks up my processing, I will be VERY cheesed off. :fire:
Anyway, after that fun debacle on Monday, Tuesday I got to take a test consisting of 350 (no lie) questions designed to determine if I am the next coming of The Joker. Many of them were pretty laughable..."no, I don't hear voices that nobody else does", "yes, I consider myself a trustworthy person", "no, I have never kicked any small animals"...that sort of thing. Then I had to sit down with a full-fledged pyschiatrist and discuss the results, which basically consisted of her marking "no" to most of the questions SHE asked. "No, no drugs, heavy alcohol use, violent tendencies, alternate personalities, terrorist friends, or criminal history. Yes, I get alone fine with my mother AND father, and always have, thank you very much. Yes, I love my wife and would never harm a hair on her body. Can I go now?"
*sigh*
So, a mixed bag of laughs, frustrations, and ponderings at how our wonderful government continues to function with some of the people under their employ.
Anyway, now that that fun is behind me, as well as chatting with a couple investigators on and off over the last week or so, I think things should be pretty quiet again for a while. Which means they should be rather loud here again. :mrgreen:
Getting back into DCs again, and I promise I will finally get some RPG stuff up as well, for those who have been (patiently?) waiting. I mean it this time! XD
