I went and played lotr the minis games today, and after that I taughtmy opponent to play the tcg. It was the first time in a long time. It felt good to roam thru common territory, throw some arrows around in the archery phase and wound some minions! What a great game :)

Would this be the minis game by Games Workshop?
-
Yes it would.

I really miss LOTR TCG--do people still play it? Not played the Games Workshop version but the minis look great. What did your opponent think of the TCG vis a vis the minis game?
-
He thought it had too many rules and little things to remember. However, with time, he will catch on
-
Which 'he' are you referring to? :P

My friend. He liked what he saw, but felt it looked to complicated. I admit, if you are one who has no real desire to learn the game and are just thrown in, TCG can be very complex. At least from the outside. Once you sit down and really try to learn what is going on it is quite simple really.

Add to that the fact that it's hard to get cards and people interested, and it can be tough to get people interested. Even the online format is quite a bit trickier to use than I had hoped. I miss the old days when the TCG had official online support and an online platform that was quite smooth and less fiddly. But oh well. We march on.

Yay! I have a nearly complete collection of both (TMG & TCG) am really trying to complete them.
LOVED, LOVED the TMG game. It was so well done and just played much better than a lot of other collectible mini games.
