Title: Hate and Lurtz
Post by: Crusader22 on January 30, 2020, 08:47:47 AM
Does anyone have any Fellowship block decks for Sauron or Isengard that aren't any worse off for not having Hate or Lurtz? I ordered 12 of each recently and USPS sent my package to Panama rather than Canada

Or does anyone have any Hate or Lurtz they want to sell me?

You definitely don't need Lurtz, Servant of Isengard in a Fellowship block deck. I would argue that more necessary cards include Saruman, Keeper of Isengard, Troop of Uruk-Hai, and Savagery to Match Their Numbers. Most of my fellowship block decks with Uruk-Hai have no more than one copy of Lurtz.

You probably want Hate for [Sauron] wounding shadows, but you can make some interesting shadow sides with Orc Banner, Enheartened Foe, Desperate Defense of the Ring, and Enduring Evil. Morgul Hunter, Orc Pillager, and Orc Butcher* will do the heavy lifting as minions in that one.

Here is a tier two [Sauron] shadow side that you can get started with:

Shadow Draw Deck:
2x Band of the Eye
3x Morgul Hunter
4x Orc Butcher
4x Orc Pillager
2x Tower Assassin
3x Vile Blade
3x Enduring Evil
3x Enheartened Foe
4x Desperate Defense of the Ring
4x Orc Banner
1x Strength Born of Fear

You might want to add a Shotgun Enquea or two.

Splashing 1x or 2x Mordor's Strength sometimes gives you a surprise kill.
