For the last two months I was really interested in FOIL cards representation in digital world ;-) for my project I also needed a batch mode (automatic processing of hundreds of images) which was the biggest problem. After some research I've decided to use open source GIMP software. It has a suitable batch mode support (but poorly documented) for python-fu plugin. Here are the results and a method description:

Interesting stuff! I would say it even looks nicer than some of the real foils. Can I see what Hobbit Farmer looks like? ;)

Very smooth! I know some players aren't fans of how foils are represented on Gemp, even with the animation turned off. It doesn't help that the foils are so dang cool in print, but applying a lighter effect to the frame alone is slick. Unfortunately for Cw0rk, the radioactive pig will have to live on in our hearts.
